The Spanish Association of Barches of Epoch and Classics, AEBEC, the main entity promoting traditional nautical culture in our country, has been officially recognized by the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela, as the Association of Category and Class Secretariat. The AEBEC will now be a member of the Cruise Committee which manages sports activity throughout the national territory.

With this recognition, the passionate of classic ships finally have a stable organization at national level, as in the other countries participating in the International Committee of the Mediterranean, C.I.M.; organization composed of clubs, federations and associations of classic boat owners of France, Italy, Monte-Carlo, Greece and Spain.

The Association was founded in September 2009 by a group of shipowners and passionate ships of Epoch and Classics as a platform for the promotion of nautical culture, the conservation and restoration of classic boats and to support all fans in general, to participate in both national and international races. It now has among its partners most of the classic and old boat owners in Spain who are actively involved in the main races of the national and international calendar.
