The Spanish sailing team has shown a high level at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona 2018 and has won five medals, two of them gold. The national regatists have joined the podium in three of the four sailing disciplines that participate in this competition. Blanca Manchón (RS: X) and Joaquín Blanco (Laser Standard) have stood up with victory; Marina Paliau has obtained silver on female boards and both Joel Rodríguez (Laser Standard) and Martina Reino (Laser Radial) have won the bronze medal.

With the gold of Joaquín Blanco already secured, the leading role in the Salou race field has been for Joel Rodríguez. The Spanish team has today secured two gold medals and tomorrow will compete to get on the podium in all the sailing categories of the Mediterranean Games of Tarragona 2018. Joaquín Blanco (Laser Standard) and Blanca Manchón (RS: X W) are, in the absence of a day, the winners and gold medalists of their classes thanks to the profit of points obtained. The fourth day of competition of the Mediterranean Games has been held with two sleeves for the Laser Standard and Radial classes while the RS: X male and female enjoyed a day of rest. Joaquín Blanco continues to lead the classification and Joel Rodríguez has risen to the third position of the Laser Standard. In Radial, Martina Reino continues in the fifth square.

Joaquín Blanco does not truce his rivals at Laser Standard and maintains the leadership of the fleet after completing the eighth manga of the Mediterranean Games. White, which has never dropped from the first post, has 20 net points for 24 of its main persecutor, the Cypriot Pavlos Kontides, second. For its part, Joel Rodríguez has managed to return to the provisional podium and is in third position with 37 net points.

White has been very satisfied with his results so far: "The sensations I have had have been quite good and I feel very comfortable with the speed I have." With three days in the Mediterranean Games of Tarragona 2018, Joaquín Blanco continues to lead the Laser Standard with an 11-point advantage over the second one. In RS: Female X, White Manchón has fallen to second position but is only one point away from gold.

The white canary Joaquín defends with claw the first position of the Laser Standard even today having recorded its worst result so far, a seventh position in the first sleeve of the day, which is discarded, and a second in the last test of the day. In total, White adds 11 net points, with an advantage also of 11 points on its main persecutor the Cypriot Pavlos Kontides, second. The podium is completed by the French Maxime Mazard.

For its part, Joel Rodríguez is now down to fifth position but is only three points from bronze and four points from provisional silver. Rodríguez, like Blanco, today added his worst results, a 10 + 9, but keeps the options of getting a medal intact.

On the women's boards, the Andalusian White Manchón descends to the second square while Marina Paliau is in fourth position. Joaquín Blanco is in front of the Laser Standard fleet and his partner Joel Rodríguez is second in the general. White, which in four tests has added three seconds and a third, takes eight points to Rodríguez, who has some 8 + 1 + 4 + 4 partials worth the second square. The third position is the Cypriot Pavlos Kontides.

White Manchón continues to lead the classification of female RS: X after having completed two new manga and adding a 1 + 2 + 3 that places him with a point of advantage over the second classified, Italian Flavia Tartaglini. The fourth position is for the Spanish Marina Paliau, who with a partial of 3 + 5 + 4 is only one point behind the third classified, the French Lucie Belbeoch.
