Galega da Vela Week takes body. The president of the Royal Galician Federation of Vela, Manuel Villaverde, and the xeral secretary for or Sport, Marta Migez, presented at the federal headquarters the second edition of this event, which puts in play six official titles, five of the Galicia Cup plus an Iberian Championship, in the waters of the Arousa Ría from 13 to 15 July, in which will participate nautical clubs from all of Galicia.

The Galician created this event a year ago by understanding that it was necessary "for the promotion of light sailing, as is the case in other autonomous communities... we wanted to bring together as many light sailing classes as possible and share the field of regatta among the new and senior regatists", said Villaverde. Already in its first edition, it took place several Galicia Cups (Optimist, 420, Vaurien, Laser and Windsurf), a question that has praised Migez for the initiative of offering a bouquet of classes at time.

The first edition mobilized 125 regatists (he could not fight the Galicia de Vaurien Cup) and now, with the Iberian of the Finn class and the success of the first year, the president estimates that "we will reach 200 participants." The technical director of the RFGV, Bruno Gago, went further and considered that because of the interest that is coming from the fleets "could double last year's figure".
