The twenty-third edition of the Regata Tembra Vela-Diputación de Alicante, puts the clock in motion just over 20 days for the great party of the cruise sailing in the capital of the Costa Blanca. The Alicantina meeting, organized by the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, will be held between 5 and 8 July and has the main objective of starting to mark the lines and the way to follow to place the 'Tenca' again in the first line of the important races of the Mediterranean.

To build that new 'Tenca Vela Diputación de Alicante' the Alicantino club, as well as the Organizing Committee, has cast the rest to take back that spirit of old. The first step has been to open the race to other emerging classes, in the case of the Swan 42, or also to recover those that were the backbone of the cruise candle in Spain in the late 1990s and early 2000, as was the First 40.7.

They are joined by the important ORC fleet, which will also have a category that has been and is key to the support of the club cruise races in recent years and which in the 'Tenca' will be called 'ORC Rally'. No less important will be the presence of the Dufour 34, another of the classes that have marked a before and a later one in the national and international races.

All these important fans aim to bring together a remarkable fleet close to the 80 ships from Catalonia, Murcia Region, Balearic Islands and Andalusia mainly. This regional window will be shared with the fleet of the Valencia Community, whose growth has been significant in recent years. For all of them, in addition to the trophies awarded by the Club, as well as the 'Tencarca Vela Diputación de Alicante' to the winner in time compensated in the different classes of the long race to the island of Tencarca (Saturday, July 7), the Spanish Cup of ORC of the Valencian Community Zone is added, an important plus for all those who plan to participate in the Alicantine citation.
