"Salseiro," "Alma do Mar" and "Zospiro" winners of the Illas Sisargas Regata in Malpica
The ships "Salseiro" by Manuel Blanco; "Alma do Mar" by Nito Enríquez; and "Zospiro" by Guillermo Blanco, were winners, in their respective classes, of the thirtieth edition of the Regata Illas Sisargas held between A Coruña and Malpica, on a double day on Saturday and Sunday, which has organized the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña.
The last stage, from Malpica, about 21 miles away, began with the entire fleet in line of departure, at 12 hours, and with a low wind of 6 knots of the NE. An hour later, at the height of Baldaio, the group was led by the "Salseiro," by Manuel Blanco, and the "Bionik Elk," by Jose Quintero. The wind went up until it entered the Coruñese bay (15-20 knots). The first to enter in real time was the "Bionik Elk" although very close to it followed the Salseiro, which was well taken advantage of by doing the board near land, which in the end served him to win in his class.
In class 2 was imposed the ship "Alma do Mar," of Nito Enríquez, of the Nautico de Sada, which made a second and a first, respectively, on the weekend.
Finally in class 3-4 the absolute winner, with two first, was the "Zospiro," patronioned by Guillermo Blanco, a sailing vocal of the organizing club, ahead of the "Mascato," by Enrique Vilariño, and the "Salao Too," by David Rivero, also of the Coruñés Nautico.
With fifteen ships in place the first Saturday test, between A Coruña and Malpica, it was "inverse." In other words, first the less fast ships came out and the winner is in real time. The first boat to take the exit was the "Salao Too," by David Rivero, at 2.30 p.m. At 1550 he made it the fastest in the fleet, the "Bionik Elk," by Jose Quintero, with winds between 12- 15 knots from the North.
As the day progressed the fleet was compacting, but the first to reach Malpica and therefore winner of the stage was Manuel Blanco's "Salseiro." The second was the "Gómez," by Andrés Soto, and the third square was achieved by the "Riás," by Ramón Carnota, all of them with the grompola of the organizing Club.
