Galicia and Salamanca will be the names of the two new ships that Brittany Ferries will join in their fleet and will arrive in 2021 and 2022, respectively. The names have been chosen by Brittany Ferries' staff in an internal competition after the confirmation of their charter contract last month, the company points out in press release.

These vessels are the second and third that the company will receive after the "Brexit," since the delivery of the first, which will bear the name Honfleur and operate between Caen (France) and Portsmouth, is scheduled for 2019. About 300 staff members proposed names for new ships, both from sea and land personnel and from the four countries in which the company operates: Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
