The 2018 edition was certainly the best of the editions held by NAVALIA since its birth in 2006. With regard to the news about the celebration of NAVALIA in Argentina, José García Costas confirmed that it has been a proposal to be assessed, although many exhibitors have asked the organization to make that leap to South America but to study a location based on the evolution of the markets. In this sense, Panama or Chile could be other alternatives.
Finally, as far as the turnover of this fair is concerned, Arnau said that, as is the case on these occasions, "it is difficult to give a specific figure, despite having a contract signed at the fair itself. We will have to wait a few weeks before these days' talks can be moved to shipyards and auxiliary industry," but it is expected to exceed the 4 billion in the 2016 edition.

Secretary-General for Fisheries announces in Vigo that the Government plans to enable 200 million funding lines to renew the fleet
The fishing sector has been the main protagonist of the second edition of Navalia 2018, one of the days with the most influx of professional visitors than the organization remembers.
La Conselleira do Mar, Rosa Quintana, and the Secretary General of Fisheries, Alberto López Asenjo, opened the round table "Construction of fishing vessels 4.0." In this context, Ópez- Asenjo, announced that the government plans to enable about 200 million euros in loans to boost "vessel renewal and modernisation elements" fishing, something "completely necessary" in order to counter the ageing of ships and maintain the competitiveness of the sector. In addition, the Secretary-General for Fisheries explained that this proposal is to renew the fleet and improve the habitability of the ships, also promoting the generational revival for young people to join this activity.

The Conselleira do Mar stressed that in order to improve the quality of life on board, an opinion was adopted unanimously at the European Committee of the Regions, which included the Galicia proposal for the future Maritime and Fisheries Economic Fund (EMFF). In it "reiterates the call to support and encourage the renewal of the fishing fleet in order to avoid the damage of its ageing", he explained. With this, he said, "we want the number of 20 fishing vessels that our shipyards have today in portfolio and so many in anticipation of entry to increase to the benefit of shipbuilding and the fishing sector itself."

In this regard, and in addition to international exhibitors, it is worth noting the presence of delegations from the Netherlands, Cape Verde, Colombia, France, Italy, Peru, Egypt, Turkey, Paraguay, the Philippines, Dubai and Japan, thanks to the support of the Igape of the Chamber of Commerce of Pontevedra, Vigo and Vilagarcía of Arousa.
On its tenth anniversary Navalia is the most important event of Spain within the naval sector and is among the four most influential in Europe. Much of the success is due to the international advocacy work carried out by the organization during the odd years, given the biennial nature of the living room. Navalia 2018 has been present at major international events, making a strong commitment to bring the brand closer to more distant markets, such as Peru or Colombia, and also to stay in closer countries, especially for its interest in the cruise sector.
