The Optimist Spanish Cup, which has been held in Malaga since April 28, is closed, and it is held with four new champions. In SUB16 the title travels to Baleares and both to the same club: Club Náutico S'Arenal and makes it by the hand of Pau Mesquida and María Perelló, who revalidates the title in the Cup. In the SUB13 Sara Díaz (RCN Gran Canaria) and Carlos Espí (RCN Valencia) are made with the title.

The Balar María Perelló del Náutic s'Arenal, current champion of the World and of Spain, in addition to defending the title in the Spanish Cup conquered last year in Altea, has been the leader in the provisional general in the event organized by the Real Club Mediterranean of Malaga after 4 tests were completed on this second day thanks to the good wind, with an intensity of 15 knots of average.

Perelló, in the yellow group, has had a good performance in general, with two partial triumphs, although in the second he could not pass from the 16, a result that was to be removed at the end of the day. In the third he has not had much luck, taking the line of arrival in the 8th square.

His club partner, Pau Mesquida has placed second to 2 points of Perelló. The shooting has added a victory to the blue group. In the other three tests he has had ups and downs: 7-4-16. In the third provisional square is Alberto Morales (RCN Arrecife) who thanks to the partials in the yellow group of 16-6-1-8, adding 15 points is kept with that position, although that is, tied with Nacho Baltasar (CN Ràpita) that he has committed in his same group.

In a yellow group, in addition to the triumphs of Perelló (2) and Morales (1), the one achieved by Alfonso Tormo (CN S'Arenal) in the second. In the blue group the winners in the three trials (2-3-4) were Pedro Fernández (CN Garraf), Javier Clement (CN Santa Pola) and Sara Díaz (RCN Gran Canaria).

Tomorrow Monday, May 1, the third and last day of the Optimist Spanish Cup in Malaga was held, with 3 tests planned at first, although the committee will try to close the day with a fourth. Following the tests, the closing and delivery ceremony will be held.

The Copa de España of the Optimist class was presented in Malaga, in which 150 ships from a dozen autonomous communities participate: Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Valencia and Galicia will have 20 optimist in line of departure; Murcia, 7; Madrid and País Vasco, 5 and Cantabria, Melilla and Navarra, with 3. This is one of the most important children's sailing competitions on the national scene, as, together with the Spanish Championship, it defines the squares of national representatives in the European Championship and the World Championship. The Spanish Cup starts tomorrow at 8: 00 in the afternoon, with an opening event in the outdoor pool of the Mediterranean Club.

The patterns will compete in four categories, sub 16 and sub 13, male and female. The competition will start on Sunday, from 12: 00 hours, in a race field that will be located in the vicinity of the marina of the Real Club Mediterranean... the tour will be an external trapeze with the arrival at the end of the second stretch of dyeing... you can complete 9 sleeves at the rate of 3 daily.

The children who participate in the competition will also be visited by the Royal Mediterranean Club, a double Olympic medalist in sailing in Barcelona and Atlanta, Theresa Zabell, who will be with the Ecomar Foundation on Sunday day and will give the regalsts various nautical material.
