The Real Club Náutico de Valencia closed today the 58th edition of the Grand Trophy Valencia de Snipe- IV Memorial Rafa Alapont "El Tigre," which has brought together 41 Snipe class ships from different points in Spain, as well as from Argentina, Italy, France and Portugal this weekend. The test, which has been the class's autonomous championship and the fourth national circuit test, has had the Portuguese Tiago Roquete and Dries Crombe of We Do Sailing / Belgium Team as winners, thanks to a consistent performance with a sixth place, a fifth, two seconds and a first in the last test today.
The second square has been for the menorquines Jordi Triay and Arturo Barranco, with the third position for Agustín Zabalúa and Juanlu Granados, of the RCN Valencia, which have also been proclaimed autonomous champions. The second place in the autonomous podium has been for the Valencians José Luis Maldonado and Juanlu Granados, in the 13th position of the general, with José Luis Marín and Ana Olivas, also from the RCN Valencia, completing the podium, and in the 14th place of the table. The youth winners have been the couple of Antonio López and Francisco Alcázar, of the RCR Cartagena.
The race began last Saturday, with the holding of three tests consisting of barlovento-sotavento routes, with soft winds. On Sunday the fleet did not sail due to weather conditions and today, a total of three tests have been completed with a very roll wind that has ranged between the southwest and the northwest, reaching up to 20 knots. If the first test of the day consisted of a barlovent-sotavent route, in the last two they have carried out a trapeze test.
