750 exhibitors from more than 90 countries have confirmed their presence at the International Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Exhibition Vigo, NAVALIA, which is held for the seventh time, following the successful editions of the years 2006-2008-2010-2012-2014 and 2016.

This reference sample of the naval sector will be held from 22 to 24 May, in the hours of 10 to 7: 00, at the Vigo Feral Station (IFEX), which is located very close to the airport of Peinador, to the point that the airport parking is the one used mostly by the visitors to the fair... it is worth noting that from the parking lot to the pavilions, there is a covered gateway, which makes the parking very comfortable. The character of the sample is "professional."

2018- NAVALIA - TECHNICAL JORNADES PROGRAMME

THE NAVAL INDUSTRY

After several years of recession, world shipbuilding has been driven by new orders for larger and more efficient ships. There are therefore signs of recovery in the world shipbuilding market, the world order portfolio is growing after five years of decline, and the recession seems to have reached a bottom.

In Europe, offShore and passenger ships have been the most prominent, leading to a change in the negative trend. The European maritime industry has high technology and is recognized worldwide for its quality, innovative design, and efficiency. This industry is faced with problems arising from the lack of financing from banks, which constricts the possibilities of contracts for the construction of new ships in Europe, while abroad there are increasing facilities and strong government support for financing, which makes it possible to increase the maritime industry outside European borders.

The reactivation of the global demand for new constructions opens up new opportunities for the shipbuilding industry in the offshore segment, both for the oil & gas sector and for the offshore wind sector, where there is great hope, despite the fact that during the commercial stop produced by the tax lease competition has emerged from shipyards in other countries.

With the new tax lease operating, new operations have begun to be signed that give visibility to this trend change and there is a sense that the market has reached a bottom and that it is starting to reassemble, the Galician shipyards have closed important contracts during 2013, and in the horizon of the years ahead new contracts are intuited with a gradual increase in activity, resulting in an increase in employment and the billing of the sector.
