The "Maui Jim Sunglasses- Digital Nautics" of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander is the new Spanish champion of the J80 class after winning in the national of the class that was held during the last four days in Baiona Bay. The cantabros, with Javier Aguado at the head, gathered on Tuesday their scepter of winners from the hands of the Assistant Director of Marine and Fisheries of Repsol, Carlos Sánchez Nieto, and José Luis Vázquez, president of the Monte Real Club of Yates, who this year served as the organizing club and host of the national of the class... the "Mercury" also of Santander patronado by Jaime Piris, who was second and the third square was for the "Okofen" of Javier de la Gandara del Monte Real.

In the competition of the great ships, of the Crocero- Regata Trofeo Repsol, the victory was for the "Bosch Service Solutions," patronized in the first two tests by Santiago Estévez and with its usual pattern, Ramón Ojea Jr, in the final race. After a hard hand-to-hand with the "Oral Group Galimplant" by Pedro Pazos, the crew of the Elan 37 of Canido, who had had to settle for the silver in the previous edition, could finally take the gold of the Repsol Trophy. The Sangenxo people took second place and the "Youkounkoun" of the Portonovo Nautical Club, led by Eduardo Segade, was third.

Maximum emotion in the Spanish J80 Class Championship that is held these days in Baiona and that lived on Monday its third and penultimate day marked by a great rivalry in the water, with the crews giving the most of themselves to get the great national prize.

The songs of the Maui Jim Sunglasses- Digital Nautical, led by Javier Aguado, and showing grympola of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander, went to the first position of the championship, disbanding the Basque of the AD Group Garatu, which fell to the fifth place. "We like to see each other in the head and we will try to play our cards well in the face of the final, but there is still evidence and everything is very hard," said Aguado.

The leader of the Maui Jim found the wind roles recorded today in Baiona Bay complicated, something that was also suffered by the Galician Javier de la Gandara with his Okofen. After first crossing the arrival line in the first test, he suffered two bad roles that prevented him from achieving the results he expected. The Galician team goes third behind the Mercury of the Olympic Jaime Piris; and tied to points with the fourth classified, which is the Gallofa of Jesus Amaliach, both of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander.

So things, the Cantabrian fleet is, for the moment, being the strongest of the national of J80 that is disputed in Baiona, with three ships lying on the Top Five, two of them with provisional gold and silver.
The competition ends tomorrow with the latest championship tests, on a day in which the rest of the ships participating in the Repsol Trophy, both of the ORC classes (cruise-regata, cruise and two) and of the Figaro class will come to water again. The final point will be the award to the winners that will be held at four o'clock in the facilities of Mount Real Club de Yates, which acts as host and organizer.

The Basque J80 "AD Garatu" and the "Maui Jim Sunglasses-Digital Nautica" of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander continue to head the Spanish Championship of J80, which is organizing the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, being framed within the Repsol de Vela Trophy, which also brings together other kinds of cruise.

The third square is for the moment for "La Gallofa" also of Santander, being the fourth square for another song, for the "Mercury" of Jaime Piris, being the fifth for Javier de la Gandara del Monte Real with its "Okofen," together with the best J80 classified.

In J70 the "Noticia" of Pichu Torcida sentenced the day with a brilliant performance and two first positions that served him to rise from the fourth position to the head of laclasification. The "Marnatura" of Luis Bugallo, who came first, fell to third place and the "Marina Rubicón," by Alfredo González, remains second.

In the "Bosch Service Solutions" cruises of the Maritime of Canido, which was second in the class cruising-regata, it now goes in the head after overturning the "Oral Group Galimplant" of Sanxenxo. And Rodeira's "Balea Dous," managed to get the first position of the cruise class over Baiona's "Fend la Bise."

In class A Two all the participants repeated the same positions they had achieved on the first day, so the general classification remains intact, with the "Salaño dos" of JacoboVenino and Brenda Maure at the head, followed by the "Q Talento Consultores," the Mount Real Club of Yates; and the "Ay Carmela" of the Bouzas Maritime Liceo.

In the Figaro class, pending the final day of Tuesday, the provisional podium is occupied by the Serralleiras of Elena Raga, the Erizana of Alberto Iglesias and the Tutatis of Octavio Villalba, all of the Mount Real Club of Yates.

The J80 Donostiarra "AD Grupo Garatu," armed by Juan Vázquez with Iker Almandoz to the cane, is the leader of the J80 Spanish Championship that began in Galicia organized by the Monte Real Club of Yates of Baiona that is framed in the Repsol Trophy in the competition after heavy sailing classes. After the Basque, the "Maui Jim Sunglasses-Digital Nautica" by Javier Aguado. The Galician crew of the Okofen, led by the historic Javier de la Gandara is third.

"Oral Group Galimplant" of the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo, patronized by Pedro Pazos, is the leader in the cross-regatta division, ahead of the "Bosch Service Solutions" of the Maritime Club of Canido.

In the cruise class, the lead is for the "Fend la Bise" of the veteran French patron based in Portugal, Jean Claude Sarrade, of Mount Real Club de Yates, ahead of the "Balea Dous" of Luis Pérez, of the Royal Nautical Club of Rodeira.

In class A Two, after a spectacular departure and start of the tour, the Menudeta of Victor Carrión and Ana Sardiña had to withdraw from the test for a problem with the spy, leaving the Salaño Two of Jacobo Vecino and Brenda Maure and the Q Talento of Javier Rey and Jorge Justo in struggle for the first place. It was finally the Salaño that was placed at the top of the provisional podium.

In the Figaro class, which also completed a coastal tour of about 13 miles, the day's victory was for Elena Raga's "Serralleiras." The "Erizana" patronized by Alberto Iglesias and the Silleiro of José García de Miguel, go second and third respectively.

In the J70 class, which was developed in the Fondadero of the Cis Islands... "Marnatura" of José Luis Freire, patroned by the young Luis Bugallo, goes in head with 8 points. Organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates, Baiona hosts, from Friday, April 27 to Tuesday, May 1, more than twenty J80 vessels that will sail the national title. Cantabria with four J80 monotypes, Baleares with two, Galicia with fifteen and Basque Country with one representative, present credentials for the Spanish Championship dispute of competitive J80 boats.

Javier de la Gandara and his team on board the "Okofen" and "Virazo" of Miguel Lago will play their great performance in recent months and the knowledge of the area's race field in front of other rivals that will go out for all. This is the case of the "Mercury" cantabros by Jaime Piris, Spanish subchampion 2017, or the "Maui Jim Sunglasses- Digital Nautica" by the menorcan Javier Aguado who closed the national podium last year. In addition, the Basque team of "AD Garatu" that patron Juan Vázquez, third classified in the prestigious French race Spi Ouest 2018, must be taken into account.

The Bay of Baiona will host, from next Saturday and for four days, the Spanish Championship of the class J80, which the Mount Real Club of Yates this year organizes by delegation of the Spanish Federation of Vela... the competition, presented this morning at a press conference, will take place in the framework of the Repsol Trophy, the traditional spring race of the Baionese club that in 2018 is its forty-first edition.

After a previous day, on Friday 27 April, reserved for the registration and weighing of the crews, and measurement and control of candles; the scheduled tests, a total of 11, will start to be held on Saturday 28 from 3: 00 in the afternoon. On Sunday 29, Monday 30 and the holiday of the first of May the fleet will have to get up to something more since the starting honks will be heard at 11: 00 in the morning.

Among the participants will be some of the great names of the candle in Spain, such as the Olympic Jaime Piris, which we will see on board the Mercury; or the champions of the world Javier Chacártegui and José María "Pichu" Torcida, who will patronize, respectively, the Ibo.es and the Aila.

The host club will get into the water almost all of the fleet of J80 del Monte Real, about 15 units that train, all year round, in the two leagues that the club specifically organizes for them. With very good results in previous competitions, the Okofen of Javier de la Gandara and the Virazo of Miguel Lago are two of the crews that start as favorites.

In addition to the Spanish Championship of the class J80, the Repsol Trophy will be the first of the punctuable tests of the Circuit Rías Baixas de A Dos, a new competition created this same year by the Monte Real Club de Yates, the Real Nautical Club of Portosin, the Portonovo Nautico and the Bouzas Maritime Liceo with the aim of promoting the sport of sailing in Galicia.

As they did in the previous edition, the J70 Viguese will again participate this year in the Repsol Trophy, which has a special class for these monotypes. The tests scheduled for them at the Fondadero de los Islas Cíes on April 28 and 29 will serve the training fleet for the European Championship to be held in Vigo from June 9 to 16.
