The Basque company in naval design Oliver Desing will be in Navalia
Oliver Desing, a company specializing in naval design and architecture based in the city of Getxo, will be present at the next edition of the Navalia fair, to be held in Vigo between 22 and 24 May, with a stand of its own in which it will show its trajectory and its latest projects. The company's most recent work includes state-of-the-art ships for sectors ranging from working ships to luxury cruises, along with existing ship reforms.
Among the most recent projects of the Spanish firm is the one that is called to become one of the most unique ships of the year 2018, the luxury cruise
"Scenic Eclipse," launched on January 31 and whose inaugural journey is scheduled for the end of August.
It is a pioneering project in its kind, combining high-standing tourism with the possibility of exploring virgin spaces and extreme natural environments, such as the Arctic and Antarctic coasts or the seabed. It is equipped with elements such as a helicopter, a small submarine or pneumatic boats, has 228 places distributed in 114 luxury suites, and incorporates the latest developments in naval design and technology.
Before it starts operating the one that will become the world's first exploration cruise, its shipowner - the Australian company Scenica - has ratified its commitment to
this new tourist offer, and has commissioned a twin ship to the same Uljanik Shipyard.
Proof of the versatility of the company is the fact that several of the work to be carried out today is in a sector completely outside the area of pleasure travel, such as fishing. In this regard, it has recently signed a contract for the design and handkey rating of a tuna vessel for the shipowner of Bermeo Echebastar, to be built in Zamakona Shipyards of Santurce. It is a freezer ship for Indian fisheries, which will be called "Campofree Alai" and will be equipped with the most modern technology.
