The first day of the 19th Levant Star Trophy, the BMW Hispanic Cup, is closed and is done with a complete test of the two planned. The weather conditions have marked the differences in the waters of Torrevieja, with quite 'cheerful' wind (7-8 knots of East component) at the exit, although at the first step of barlovento it was down to 2-3 knots of intensity. In the second test of the day, for the entire ORC fleet with the exception of the Promotion class, the wind started in 15-16 knots, then and already in the last stretch, with April Pez leading the group, a roll and fall of the wind forced to cancel the test.
The only completed test for all classes and provided for in the Torrevieja RCN program, with a "triangle '(2-dyed and 2-dyes) type course of 10 nautical miles, the favorites met the script, highlighting the April Pez Bat (CN Portmán) that fully mastered the test in the 1-2 ORC, both in real time and in compensated.
The ship of José Mª Meseguero has the "accelerator 'and this is reflected by the provisional general of the only test of the day, being the fastest ship to complete the test, investing a time of 2 hours and 4 minutes to complete the tour. More than enough time to get the partial triumph after the compensated times.
The local Maverta (RCN Torrevieja), armed by Pedro Gil, was also able to rent and take advantage of his Rodman 42 in these difficult wind conditions. Gil's get the second place in compensation, while Fandango 300 (RCR Cartagena) by Javier Sabiote remains, for the time being, with the third place.
There have also not been many differences in ORC 3 between the fleet that has podium options. Kalamandurrio (CN Villajoyosa) of Pablo Nogueroles has been imposed both in time and in compensation, although its difference with the second has been limited, with 24 seconds on the Tanit IV-Medilevel (RCR Alicante) of Mª José Vila, second. The third was Viryi (RNC Torrevieja) by Carlos Carmona.
The Murcia Region has placed another ship in the first square, in this case to the Saleroso 2.0 (CN Águilas) of Luis Carlos Martínez in ORC 4. The podium in the provisional general is completed by Kai (RCR Alicante) of Maximum Catula, followed by Piston Broke (CN Dos Mares). In ORC Promotion the three podium squares are for My Lady (CT Horadada) by Antonio Prado, followed by Tucana I (CN Campoamor) by Patricio Valverde and Brisa (RCN Torrevieja).
Tomorrow Sunday, April 29, the Levante Star Trophy, the BMW Hispanic Cup, is closed, a valid test for the Provincial Cup of Alicante, with a test very similar to today's, with a triangle-shaped coastal tour with about 10 nautical miles.
