The Vizcaina waters of the Abra welcomed at a summer weekend the seventeenth edition of the Trophy José Luis Azqueta- WOR60, which brought together 150 Basque and Cantabrian regatists. They were cited to navigate in the different classes in one of the most outstanding tests in the Cantabric in the light candle mode.
In the Laser Radial class, after the last 10-kt north wind tours, the regatist of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, organizing entity, Manolo Rey Baltar (7 points), was imposed by the 12 of his partner Nicolás Viar and the 15 of the Alavesa Edurne Fernandino.
In the Laser class 4.7 he defeated the hondarribitarra Jon Almadoz, with the canopy Tanis Ray Baltar in the second position. In class 420 they maintained their lead Peru and Joana Abasola, also from the Maritimo del Abra, with the second square for Juan Olábarri and Miguel Antona, their companions from the School of Vela José Luis Ugarte. The third were Jaime and Maria Framis, from Hondarribia.
In the FEVA class, the victory Alba Ortega and Telma Aja (R.C.M.A.-R.S.C.) were clearly awarded, with the Cantabros Victor Maruri and Rafa González following them at 10 points. The most popular class of the 17th Trophy José Luis Azqueta-MOR60, that of Optimist, was to stop if any discussion of Txomin del Rincón, of the Nautical Club of Hondarribia, with Aier Carreira second and Nora Arrese third. In the Optimist B class Gabriel Arrutia was imposed.

The Trophy José Luis Azqueta- WOR60 celebrated the first of his two days in the waters of the Abra, in a summer, with a partial victory of Manolo Rey Baltar in the Laser Radial class with a point of advantage over Nicolás Viar. On the other hand, the hondarribitarra Jon Almandoz leads the Laser class 4.7. Peru Abasola and Joana Abasola occupy the first place in class 420; and Silvia Marcé and Ada Herrero are second to one point. In addition, Alba Ortega and Telma Aja have most of the ballots to beat in the FEVA class. Angueira Arrieta and Marco Espinosa won the Optimist tests.

The Vizcaina waters of the Abra this weekend have one of the dates marked each year in red in the extensive calendar of the Basque light candle. About 150 young Basque and Cantabrian regatists take part in one of the most outstanding competitions of this modality in the Cantábrico: the José Luis Azqueta Trophy, which reaches its 17th edition. This important race, organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, allows the promises of the sailing of several communities and clubs to calibrate their status in this section of the season. This Trophy José Luis Azqueta has already been consolidated as one of the most participatory of this specialty in the cantabria.
The 17th Trophy José Luis Azqueta- Grand Prix WOR60 is awarded on six tours (three on Saturday 21, from 13: 00, and three on Sunday 22: 00). The winners in the Optimist, Laser, FEVA, L'Equipe, 420 and Snipe classes will be known after these. A year ago, there were the victories of the Vizcadno Tomás Trueba in the Laser class and the hondarribitarra Javier Amondarain in Laser 4.7. Amadeo Torrens and Imanol Elorrieta, from the Real Club Marítimo del Abra, imposed themselves on the Snipe class and the Gipuzcoans Jaime Framis and Álvaro Betoño did so in 420.
