The Govern Balear is committed to sustainability, dismissing new marines
The Department of Territory, Energy and Mobility of the Govern Balear has reported that the expansion and creation of new seaports on the islands will be ruled out in order to optimize the existing port infrastructure, according to the new General Port Plan which is being drafted. The Land and Energy Council will draw up a General Plan for the Management of the Balears Ports with the aim of optimizing the existing facilities and the total prohibition of any expansion and new construction of seaports throughout the territory of the islands.
In this line, the Departament has highlighted that the Executive Ballar does "a clear commitment to sustainability" and that during this legislature all the files of new ports and extensions have already been closed. In this way, the Govern has firmly committed to the "no occupation of territory and the sea with new ports and yes to the improvement of existing ones with new formulas to meet future needs".
The Territory and Energy Consellery will draw up a General Plan for the Management of the Balears Ports with the aim of optimizing the existing facilities and the total prohibition of any expansion and new construction of seaports throughout the territory of the islands.
