The Inicia't fair, the Nautica and its offices fair, developed from 24 to 27 May, concluded this Sunday with a growth in its pedagogical and commercial offer and a great citizen participation.

The fair is an event that aims to eliminate the misconception that the sea and its enjoyment is something exceptional, that the navigation or practice of nautical sports is elitist; in short, it aims to eliminate the prejudices that still exist in a large part of society that prevents breaking with a psychologically very rooted barrier to definitive access to the sea.

At the same time, Initia't seeks to visualize that the sea has been and is a source of opportunities. In this sense, it has shown just over 30 trades related to the sea as well as its training offer in order to motivate access to the sea also by the way of work because, after all, nautical activity is an important economic engine with projection that in our country is clearly going to more.

The city of Badalona is aware of these new opportunities offered by the sea, as had been the case in the past, and of the importance of breaking these widespread prejudices. It therefore strongly supports this event organized by Marina Badalona with the invaluable collaboration of other organizations, such as a window of approach to the sea from its port that is in the process of integration with its city Badalona.

It is expected that about 600 schoolchildren will pass through the fair that opened today with the presence of Dolores Sabater, mayor of Badalona

Some 600 high school students, a record figure, will go through a much more active and more demonstrative appointment than ever before. The students will discover 30 trades of the sea as a ship maintenance technician, lifeguard in aquatic facilities, mosso d'escadra of the Aquatic Unit or sailor.

It includes a cycle of talks where Jordi Villacampa talks about his experience in humanitarian mission with Open Arms; Alfred Rodríguez Picó of the importance of meteorology and the sea; Óscar car Trives, from the Fundació per a la Navació Oceànica de Barcelona (FNOB), explains the offices on board an IMOCA; and Eulàlia Pujol, responsible for Maritime Rescue, the work that this organization does.

From Friday at noon, the fair reorients and adopts proposals of a more familiar nature as an exhibition of products and services for initiation, with about 75 companies, who want to seduce potential new users and people who want to enjoy the leisure options of the sea.

The 'Nautical Fair and its Offices' returns to Marina Badalona from 24 to 28 May with a third edition marked again by the will to bring the formation and the nautical culture closer to the youth and family, showing a thirty nautical trades and offering many activities related to the sea. The opening will take place at 11: 00 in the morning of next Thursday, in an event where they will intervene:

• Dolores Sabater, mayor of Badalona and president of Marina de Badalona

• Sergi Tudela, Director-General for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Generalitat de Catalunya

• Agustí Martín Mallofré, dean of the Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC)

On the weekend the Feria Inicia 't approaches all the public with a wide offer to test water activities such as light sailing, rowing, kayak, paddle surf, Dragon Boat or fishing among others. All this is threatened by performances, gastronomy and a nautical market.

In connection with the Feria Inicia 't Marina Badalona, he organized on April 26, within the conference cycle' Anar a Mar ', a round table where professionals from the sector will discuss the present and future of the trades related to the sea.

The event is organized by Marina de Badalona, with the support of the City of Badalona and the collaboration of the Association of Industries, Trade and Nautical Services (ADIN), the Nautical Cluster and the Faculty of Nautical of Barcelona (UPC) among many other entities.
