Pablo Cabello and Javier Lago distinguished by the IOC for their world title of vaurien

Pablo Cabello Vieez and Javier Lago Ruiloba declared themselves the absolute world champions of Vaurien in Lake Lubie, in Gudowo, town of Polish Pomerania located just 200 km from Berlin
Pablo Cabello and Javier Lago regatists of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, received from the president and vice president of the Galician Federation of Vela, Manuel Villaverde and Viviana García, the Medal of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), an annual distinction that the body that chairs Alejandro Blanco grants for access to the podium in European or World Championships of absolute category.
Cabello and Lago, in July 2017 the absolute World Cup of Vaien in Gudowo, Poland, became creditors of this recognition of the COE, which made the decision on 13 December and which has delivered a total of 96 medals for the sports merits of last year, of which only 14 correspond to the modalities of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (Vaien, Snipe, 420, Wild Cat, 29er, Raceboard and Radiocontrol) and of them two to Galician regatists.
In a simple event at the federal headquarters in Bouzas, Villaverde, accompanied by his vice-president and the secretary of the FGV, Ignacio Olcoz, thanked the trajectory of Cabello and Lago, "a great example of fidelity to this international class," he said. The medal, accompanied by the insignia of the COE and a letter from the president of the RFEV, Julia Casanueva, who recognized the "pride" of bringing the award through the Galician because "it is only the result of a great sacrifice and effort."
