The race will incorporate as new the classes J70, J80, First 40.7, SportBoat and Open, in addition to the usual fleet of ORC
The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia will host, from June 29 to July 1, the twentieth edition of the SM Trophy La Reina - Regata Tribute a la Marina - 31st Almirante Sanchez-Barcáiztegui Cup. This is the club's most important sailing test and one of the most outstanding quotes on the national calendar. The Valencian club has incorporated in the announcement of races the J70 and J80 classes, identical ships that compete in real time, as well as a Sportboat class, for the ORC ships that have this name on their certificate.
In addition, for the first time in this race the First 40.7 will participate in a single class, and despite competing with the ORC compensation system, they will sail as independent classes with their own classification. In addition, the SM La Reina Trophy will have the usual ORC fleet, divided into the ORC 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 classes depending on the characteristics of the ships and the Open class in which the most familiar cruises will sail independently.
The tests will start on Friday, June 29 for all classes, with a maximum of 6 sleeves planned, except for classes 4 and Club that will fight only three. In the last edition of the race, the absolute champion was the Swan 45 Rats of Fire, by Rafael Carbonell, with Rayco Tabares on the line. The organization expects to count this year again with several Swan 42 and Swan 45, classes whose participation is increasing edition after edition, as well as with the components of the podium of previous years, which will surely offer a great show in the water.
