Norway creates the first autonomous shipping company: Massterly
According to the Latin American publication "Maritime World," Norwegian multinationals Wilhelmsen and Kongsberg have decided to join together to strengthen their presence within autonomous maritime transport and to offer a full value chain for ships with this characteristic, from design, development to control systems, logistics services and operations. A new company was born from this union: Massterly, which is based in Norway and other countries ground control centres to monitor and operate autonomous ships.
With a combined experience of 360 years, Massterly will benefit from Kongsberg's unique technological experience and solutions, and Wilhelmsen's knowledge, a world leader in logistics and naval management operations. In addition, Norway's position as a leading maritime nation also creates opportunities for the development of next generation maritime personnel.
