Rodman consolidates its leadership in the construction of NGV 2000 boats, with the start of the construction of a new unit of its Rodman 100 model. It will be the third vessel built under this international code in less than two years.

In recent years, Rodman has designed, built and delivered different types of catamarans, not only of passengers, but also for other uses, such as hydrographic and research catamarans or offshore catamarans supporting marine wind power platforms. The experience gained in this type of construction places Rodman as one of the European reference yards in this type of ship.

As far as the construction of passenger catamarans is concerned, under the code NGV 2000, Rodman, is an undisputed leader in our country. The Rodman 90, catamaran delivered in 2016, was the first boat to be built in Spain under this code. In 2017, the Rodman 100 was the second and the largest length built so far. Both were built for the Trasmapi (Sercomisa) shipping.

On this occasion, its shipowner, again relies on Rodman for the construction of a third catamaran NGV2000, model Rodman 100, which strengthens and supports its confidence in the Rodman ships, which has been able to understand the environmental, energy efficiency and safety bet that started the Transmapi ship with the addition of the ship Rodman 90 - Jet spalmer and that, following the good results obtained from navigability, comfort and sustainability, have involved a new bet for the shipyard.

Like its predecessor, the Rodman 100- Illetas Jet, this new third catamaran, will be built in accordance with the International Code of High Speed Ships 2000 and will be classified by the Lloyd's. A ship designed according to the specific needs required by its users to provide the best conditions of boarding, navigability, safety and sustainability. The design development has been specific to the waters in which it operates.

In addition to the demanding requirements of the NGV standard, Rodman builds this new boat, applying the latest technologies in design and shipbuilding processes: CFD behavior simulations, CNC moulding, infusion lamination,..., are some of the most innovative processes used, key and differential in the final result obtained. In its manufacture, which has respected the strictest regulation, it is committed to respect for the environment, improving its efficiency and consumption.

The construction of this new ship, which is planned to be incorporated into the Ibiza-Formentera route this year, will be a new challenge for the shipyard, where it has been able to perfectly combine all its experience and qualification in the construction of this type of ship, with its standard quality standards and with the requirements required by its shipowner.
