Tomorrow will begin the concentration of follow-up of the Spanish slalom team in which will take part senior palists and sub23, to celebrate in the French town of Pau until next March 4

The pallists Joan Crespo and Laia Sorribes in K1 and Daniel Marzo and Klara Olazabal in C1 have won the first Spanish Cup of slalom Gran Prix Lotteries and State Bet, which has been held this weekend in the French town of Orthez with the participation of about a hundred palists belonging to 16 clubs.

The Olympic champion Maialen Chourraut, in the recovery phase of an injury, has not competed in Orthez, the enclave that is part of the French Basque Country and is one of the usual training places of Atlético San Sebastián, an event club that has brought together palists of the cadet, juvenile, senior and veteran categories.

In the senior category the victory has been for the palist of the Santiagotarark Joan Crespo in K1 while in C1 the athlete of Captain Nemo Daniel Marzo has been imposed. The Spanish manchego David Llorente, from the Eresma River, has finished fourth in K1 and fifth in C1.

In senior women the young Laia Sorribes (Nautic Segre) has been imposed in K1 and Klara Olazabal (Santiagarark) in C1. The Catalan Nuria Vilarubla (Cadi) has achieved double podium by being second in C1 and third in K1, while the Basque Irati Goikoetxea (Atlético San Sebastian) has been second in K1 and fourth in C1.

In young people, the double triumph achieved by the young Miquel Travé of Cadi, which has been imposed in K1 and C1, stands out.

The participating clubs have been Atlético San Sebastián, Beti Busti, Baix Cinca, Miño, Dumbria, Penedo, Cadi, Capt. Nemo, DB Slalom Velocity, Calasparra, Fortuna, Nautic Segre, Piraguamadrid, Rio Eresma, Santiagarrak and Tea de Mondariz.

Along with the competition in Orthez, two other competitions are part of the 2018 Spanish Cup, scheduled for March 17 in the Galician town of Mondariz and May 19 in Ponts (Lérida). The first two will determine the palists that will take part in the process in which the 2018 national slalom team will be selected.
