The Cantabria Asunción Loriente Pérez is today the new president of the Spanish Federation of Remo, after being imposed on the other two candidates: the Asturian José Manuel Alvarez Lineras and the Sevillian Sergio Paredes. In total, 72 of the 78 eligible Assemblies were presented, leaving the Asian candidate out in the first round: Lineras (16) and the other two candidates (28). In the second vote, the cantabra won the votes of Galicia and Asturias, among others, reaching 38 votes for 30 of its opponent.

Asunción Loriente Pérez has been a national arbitrator since 1994. He reached the international level ten years later, in 2004... he is considered of the orbit of the president of the Spanish, Fernando Citation. He was born on May 23, 1972, for what he is 46 years old... he resides in the capital of Spain, even though he is registered with the Cantabra Federation of Remo. There is the curious circumstance that another nautical sport such as the sailing, also has a president, and of the same autonomous community.
