Gondan boot in Ribadeo the SOV "Edda Passat" designed by Rolls Royce Marine
It was one of the latest technological jewels, a colossus built in Gondán Astileros, the first SOV (Service Operation Vessel)... the "Edda Passat" is already in Gijón to carry out the latest adjustments and to perform the tests on the high seas, a step before starting with its true activity: the maintenance of marine wind parks in the North Sea.
Built by Gondan for the Norwegian shipowner Østensjø Rederi A / S, the ship will operate for Ørsted, in the wind park of Race Bank, in United Kingdom waters. It is a ship specially designed for it by Rolls Royce Marine. "Edda Passat," as well as his twin, "Edda Mistral," have about 81 m in length and 17 m in sleeve. They have the capacity to accommodate up to 40 technicians who will carry out maintenance work in these wind parks, and a crew of about 20.
Both ships are equipped with a 23-meter Uptime offset walkway and a state-of-the-art 3D offset crane. In addition to the catwalk, they have the possibility of deploying an 11-metre auxiliary vessel, which will allow the transfer of technicians for the maintenance of wind facilities in a safe manner.
