Robert Allan and Kongsberg Maritime work on an autonomous fire ship

The companies Robert Allan Ltd. and Kongsberg Maritime have come together to develop a small and autonomous boat, for the fight against fires within port facilities
In order to meet the new security and safety needs of modern ports, the naval architects and marine engineers located in Vancouver Robert Allan Ltd. and the international marine technology specialist Kongsberg Maritime are collaborating in the development of a radically new fire boat that will allow in the early stages to attack dangerous fires in ports, in the most aggressive and safe way that has been carried out so far.
The unmanned RALamander fireship will offer a body-to-body combat capacity that keeps marine fire-extinguishing professionals safe. Fire involving containers, petrochemicals, shore structures or ships can be attacked more quickly in situations where toxic smoke or the risk of explosion can delay or even prevent manned assets from responding effectively. RALamander can serve as a force multiplier with conventional fire-fighting resources, or can be deployed by itself.
The first of the series, the 20 m RALamander 2000, will be equipped with a WiFi 1 capacity with a total pumping capacity of 2400 m3 / h with optional foam. A retractable mast can lead one of the three monitors to a high fire point on board or on the dock.
