The Andalusian Domingo Sánchez "Kiko" takes responsibility for leading the Optimist class in Spain for the next four years. Sánchez, one of the leading regatists in Andalusia in the late 1990s and early 2000 in the major cruise sailing projects and currently linked to the base sailing in the RCN El Puerto de Santa María, was chosen last weekend, during the last test of the Optimist Excellence Cup in Torrevieja, within the framework of the XI Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja Trophy.

Sánchez comes with new knowledge to the direction of AECIO IODA Spain with the incorporation of María Eugenia Suárez, Gran Canaria, who has already taken over Alejandro de Juan a few months ago to head the Delegation Optimist Gran Canaria, and now assumes the responsibility and position of Treasurer, as he has been doing until last Saturday De Juan. As for the Optimist de Aguas Interientes, Alfonso Moreno de la Comunidad Madrid, faces the difficult challenge of continuing to drive the class in the territorial and inland water clubs.

The new board, as Sánchez has indicated, proposes a line of continuity given the good work that has been done in the last four years, "so no changes are expected, at least until the end of the year, more or less for the month of November". This objective means that the Andalusian will be accompanied by two members of the previous board: Cati Darder, Delegate Optimist Baleares and Xavi Garcia, Delegate Optimist Cataluña.
