Two years after the celebration of its first edition, the Baiona Angra Atlantic Race, one of the few ocean races organized from Spain, was born in 2016 by the Monte Real Club de Yates (Gali and Angra Iate Clube in the ocean archipelago of the Azores. Both culbes have already officialized that the first of July will begin the second edition of the race, which will be reserved to not more than 20 ships and not more than 10 meters in length, complete crew with two stages, back and forth from Baiona, with a total of 865 miles each of it... or just over 1,700 nautical miles.

The registration must be directed to the Monte Real Club de Yates, either by email or by telephone... the deadline for registration will be open until the first of July, and all ships that do so before the first of March will enjoy a 25% discount:

In the first edition,. the "Xekmatt" of the Naval Association of Lisbon, patronized by José Carlos Prista in the initial stage and Hugo Prista in the final, took the victory of the first edition of the Baiona Angra Atlantic Race. The Portuguese also made themselves the record of the Angra do Heroismo-Baiona crossing, after being the fastest to complete it. Other protagonists of the first edition of the Baiona Angra were also the Portuguese "Cleopatra" of the Nautic Association of Recreio, and the "Free Spirit," of the Royal Maritime Club of Abra-Real Sporting Club, which achieved silver and bronze respectively. Also highlighted was the performance of the "Saint Maxime" of Mount Real Club of Yates, with Miguel Lago at the front, awarded as the best ship of the first stage... as well as the cruise of the Bouzas "Atlantis" and the "Pakea-Cadenote" of Pello Basurko.
