The fleet will have to wait to start the 42 Christmas Race
The fleet of 335 ships participating in the 42 Christmas Race, which is held until next Friday, December 22, in the waters of the Bay of Palamós, could not be released after a front of clouds did not allow the entrance of wind, thus the fleet remained on the ground.
In the first hour of the morning the different Regata Committees went out to their respective fields in search of the southern wind, which was the one that gave the forecasts, did not end up coming in, so at 15 hours the regatta direction ended the day, except in the class FX in which the Committee decided to wait a little longer in case any breeze came in to be able to dispute any evidence, but finally it also left.
The meteorologist of the Christmas Race, Enric Agud, explained that "the front has advanced, the temperature has been cold, which has caused the wind not to enter." By tomorrow Tuesday the forecasts are optimistic: "We hope that between the north wind with an intensity that can reach 25 knots, which is sure that the races can be started."
The director of the Christmas Race, Carles Palomares, is quiet as the forecasts for the next days are good: "We have to think of day to day, this Tuesday all points out that we will have good wind conditions, so we will try to take advantage of the tests planned for the day."
In view of the second day of the Christmas Race, the hours of departure of the tests are maintained in all classes from 11 in the morning.
