The Swiss "Team Tilt," proclaims GC32 world champion in Garda
The Team Tilt of Sébastien Schneiter has proclaimed the GC32 World Champion on Lake Garda after mastering the first GC32 World Championship, a competition that has brought together the 13 best squads of the GC32 Racing Tour and the Extreme Sailing Series in an intense championship decided to 16 rounds.
The first GC32 World Championship has ended in the Italian Lake of Garda with 16 partials in the locker of the 13 teams that have fought for the first world crown between May 23 and 27. The glory was the Team Tilt of Sébastien Schneiter, the Olympic regatist of 49er who represented Switzerland at the 2016 Olympic Games, the same year he finished second with Team Tilt in the absolute general of the GC32 Racing Tour.
In the last four days of the GC32 World Championship competition, the beginning of the hostilities was advanced at 08: 30 with a manga disputed under the influence of the Peler (the north component wind in Garda) before the fleet was sent to the ground to wait for the establishment of the Ora (southern breeze), which allowed the celebration of three more sleeves. In total, four dog-face assaults for the first world crown.
The first manga of the day was won by the SAP Extreme Sailing Team, a result that allowed the team of Jes Gram-Hansen and Rasmus Køstner to take over the provisional. But the discrete performance in the following three tests (4-7-9), ended the aspirations of the Danish team, which finished second, eight points from the champion. It would complete the podium the Oman Air patrolling by Phil Robertson. This is how the GC32 General of the World

24 / 04 / 2018: Cara al debuo in Garda... the grille of the GC32 Racing Tour 2018 begins to take shape

Seven teams of six nationalities have already confirmed their participation in the fifth consecutive season of the GC32 flying catamaran circuit, which will start next May on Lake Garda. The Swiss watchmaker Anonimo repeats as an official timekeeper (Photo Jesus Renedo)
The grill for the GC32 Racing Tour 2018 will have at least seven teams of six nationalities, a combination of veteran and new squads in which will be the majority of the ships patronized by their shipowner, which will regroup under the owner- driver category.
In the absence of confirming the shape status of the crews following the training carried out since the end of last season in October, the rival to beat should be the Swiss Realteam, champion of the GC32 Racing Tour 2017. For its third season, the team armed by Esteban García and named by Jérôme Clerc strengthens its crew with Benjamin Amiot (former Team ENGIE crew) and Arthur Cevey (Team Tilt).
Despite its absence in the 2017 course, it also leaves with favorite vitola the 2016 season winner, the NORAUTO powered by Team France led by French legend of multicascos, champion of Volvo Ocean Race and American's Cup pattern, Franck Cammas.
Among the private teams this year will not miss the Argo of the double world champion of class Melges 32, Jason Carroll. The American team won the owner- driver trophy at the GC32 Racing Tour 2016 and was a subchampion in 2017, a brilliant season in which it won the GC32 Villaimius Cup and remained only six points from the absolute circuit champion.
From Australia, the .film Racing of the President of the GC32 International Class Association, Simon Delzoppo, returns for the second consecutive season. Tactic on board this year will be the former American's Cup Sébastien Col, which will be assisted by other European GC32 experts and the Australian catamaran regatist Class A, Stephen Brayshaw.
The French Zoulou of Erik Maris also repeated the participation, which last season was from less to more, ending his participation with a well-deserved victory on the last date of the year, the Marseille One Design. Another return is the Argentine Code Red of Federico Ferioli.
New in the circuit will be the New Zealand team Frank Racing, of Simon Hull, who despite debuting on the GC32 Racing Tour accumulates two seasons competing with his GC32 in New Zealand. For its landing in Europe, Hull will have a strong crew of Kiwis regatists with experience at Youth America's Cup and GC32.
The GC32 Racing Tour 2018 will start in the Italian town of Riva del Garda with the celebration of the first world of GC32 in history, the GC32 World Championship, which will be held from May 23 to 27... this is the provisional list of entries:
1. Argo Jason Carroll USA Jason Carroll
2 Red Code Racing Federico Ferioli ARG Federico Ferioli
3. film Racing Simon Delzoppo AUS Simon Delzoppo
4 Frank Racing Simon Hull NZL Simon Hull
5 NORAUTO Frank Cammas FRA Frank Cammas
6 Realteam Esteban Garcia SUI Jérôme Clerc
7 Zoulou Erik Maris FRA Erik Maris
16 / 04 / 2018: In the GC32 World Cup of Lake Garda are already registered 15 flying catamarans

The largest fleet of GC32 catamarans will never see the GC32 World Championship in Lake Garda next May... up to 15 teams from the GC32 Racing Tour and the Extreme Sailing Series have confirmed their participation
A record fleet of flying catamarans will compete in the inaugural edition of the GC32 World Championship, to be held in the Italian Lake of Garda between the next 23 and 27 May. The competition is the result of the successful efforts of the GC32 International Class Association, which last fall achieved recognition for the monotype as an official class of the International Sailing Federation, World Sailing.
The 15 ships that have confirmed their participation are an unpublished figure, the result of the union of teams of the two international circuits that compete with catamarans GC32: the GC32 Racing Tour (composed of five events in southern Europe) and the Extreme Sailing Series (eight tests worldwide).
23 / 03 / 2018: The Portuguese port of Lagos completes the programming of the GC32 Tour 2018
Located near Cape of San Vicente, in the southwestern end of Portugal, Lagos was also the stage of epic naval battles. And it will be again (although of a more kind nature) between June 27 and July 1 when it hosts the first edition of the GC32 Lagos Cup.
The GC32 Racing Tour visits Portugal for the first time thanks to the efforts of the city of Lagos, with the support of Hugo Henriques, the local shipyard Sopromar, Martinho Fortunato, Marina de Lagos, and the Vela de Lagos Clube.
07 / 02 / 2018: The French town of Toulon chosen for the end of the GC32 Racing Tour 2018
The French town of Tolón will host the last event of the GC32 Racing Tour 2018. Under the name GC32 TPM Med Cup, the event will be held between 10 and 14 October in front of the capital of the department of Var, the third port of the French Mediterranean coast.
The celebration of the great final of the season in the waters of Tolon favours the two French teams that have already confirmed their participation in the GC32 Racing Tour 2018: the Norauto powered by Team France by Franck Cammas, who was the winner in the 2016 edition, and the Zoulou by Erik Maris, both sailed by former members of the French challenge of America's Cup, Team France. The prospect of reaching the Tolon event with podium options adds an extra of emotion to the French event.
14 / 12 / 2017: Lake Garda will host the first GC32 World Cup in May 2018

Following the official recognition as a class by World Sailing last November, the GC32 International Class Association announced the celebration of the first world championship of the flying catamarans, the GC32 World Championship, which will be held between 23 and 27 May 2018 in the Italian Lake of Garda (Photo Jesus Renedo)
World Sailing's recognition as a world class, the stage that governs international sailing competition, begins to generate positive consequences for the GC32. The first is that the GC32 Class Championship becomes GC32 World Championship and will exercise as the first official world championship of the class. It will be held between 23 and 27 May in Riva del Garda, on the northern bank of the Italian Lake of Garda.
Riva del Garda already hosted in 2016 and 2017 the GC32 Riva Cup, the inaugural event of the GC32 Racing Tour the last two seasons. For the circuit components, the World Championship will also point out as the first date of the five that will be held in 2018.
