Very cold in Getxo... now only the traditional Cock Regata is missing

The peach waters of the Abra welcomed the Christmas Trophy. It was the last test of the year in the light sailing mode of the 2017 calendar of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club... now, only the traditional Regata del Gallo is missing next December 16.

The young regatists of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte challenged the very low temperatures of the weekend and took part in Christmas Trophy, which decided the last winners of this exercise that has brought so good results to the Club of Las Arenas.

After five tours in the Laser Radial class, Nicolás Viar reedited his victory a year earlier and won with 5 points and three first positions, exceeding Manolo Rey-Baltar (7 points), Enrique Arriola (11 points), Perico Basterra (15) and Tomás Trueba (18).

In the FEVA class, Cristina Terry and Nerea Alvarez were imposed, with two points less in the final general than Natalia Carreira and Ana de Córdoba and Alba Ortega and Telma Aja, couples who completed the podium.

The 420 class was for Carmen Gomeza and Laura Rodrigo, while Arrieta Angueira, on the four routes of Optimist, confirmed her good season by two points outtaking Gabriel Oraá, another of the regatists with much to come. Third was Ane Lejarraga, Mikel Iribicu finished fourth and Jimena Aja fifth. Aier Carreira, Aketx Otxarri, Jaime Hernando, Jon Ortega, Erlantz Franco and Aritz Barañano were then classified.

In Optimist B, Daniela Voss was imposed, ahead of Aiala Angueira. Half a hundred regatists thus concluded with the light sailing tests.
