150 miles between Valencia and Columbretes passing through Culera

The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia has announced that it will organize in November next year the two-crew race "The Intrepid Race" with a route between Valencia - Columbres, a remarkable test for the Spanish Championship A2. It is a 150-mile race with a tour from Valencia and, after bordering the Penyeta del Moro in Culera, it will reach the Columbretes, turning the largest of these islands, and return to the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia.

Regatists must demonstrate their ability by rattling in pairs in cold conditions and with a chance of bad weather. Before sailing, the engine of the vessels shall be sealed and subject to a safety review by the test organizing committee.

The creation of this race arises at the initiative of the club's sailing delegate, Salvador Bayarri, with the aim that the Valencian nautical has a unique height test. "We have a very powerful fleet of cruise and light sail, and we wanted to organize a test that recovers the adventure dimension of the candle, a different race that was a challenge for the participants," Salvador Bayarri said.

This cruise race, which will be held in November 2018, is joined by the important citations that the Valencian club, which next year celebrates its 115 anniversary, such as the Trophy S.M. The Queen, the Trophy Dr. Luis Senís, or the Valencia high race - San Antonio.
