The New Pescanova Group has been integrated into the Spanish Confederation of Fisheries (CEPESCA) for"to improve their level of representation to national and international bodies governing the fisheries sector, and to continue to make progress in the development of sustainable and responsible fisheries, a key aspect of the company's strategy", both entities reported.

The fleet of Nueva Pescanova is made up of trawlers (freezers and frescoes), tangoneros, longliners and freezer ponders, who fish in fishing grounds of the southern hemisphere.

The New Pescanova Group has a staff of over 12,000, of which 1,100 work in Spain. The species that it captures are Mozambique's lobster, bambon, toothfish and Argentina's pot, Angola's red and white gamba, Namibia's hake, pink and rape, and Uruguay's blond, among others.

The company operates in 27 countries and has 18 processing plants, spread around the world, in which it processes more than 70 species of fish and seafood which, in different formats, markets in 80 countries on the five continents. The group closed its 2016 financial year with a turnover of 1,060 million euros.
