The Vizcaínos regatists honored Eduardo Erecacho

70 regatists in half a hundred light Bela ships participated in the seventeenth edition of the Eduardo Erecachon Memorial... the Optimist classes, Laser 4.7, Feva, 420 and Snipe. With north-west winds of 10 to 15 knots, and rain on the early day of Saturday, one of the most intimate light sailing tests of the annual race calendar scheduled by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club was played. The appointment has been a reminder for 17 years of Eduardo Erecacho, a regatist of the Club de Las Arenas who died in a traffic accident.

After the six tours in the Optimist class, Gabriel Oraá confirmed his favoritism (6 points, with four first posts and two seconds) ahead of Arrieta Angueira and Mikel Iribicu (both with 14 points). In Optimist B was imposed Aiala Angueira. Andoni Lejarraga was the best in Laser 4.7, as he appeared as the most regular in the six sleeves (four wins) ahead of Nacho Aja, Martín Bueno and Perico Basterra. The FEVA class was awarded by Cristina Terry and Nerea Alvarez, with Alba Ortega and Telma Aja only one point in second place. Already in class 420 they took the triumph Peru and Joana Abasola (6 points), with Juan Olábarri in Iñigo Abásolo seconds and Silvia Marcé and Ada Herrero-Velarde in the third position. Finally, Amadeo Torrens and Imanol Elorrieta signed up for an exciting Snipe class when they ended up tied to seven points in the head with Tomás Trueba and María Alonso. Torrens and Elorrieta were the winners of the last tour.
