More than 9 points are growing the registration of recreational boats

From January to October 2017, 4,937 vessels were registered in Spain compared to 4,510 in the same period in 2017, a growth of 9.47%. Of the total number of registered vessels, 1494 are intended for rental use (30.26%), i.e. the charter market has grown by 22.46% in the period under review. These are the data collected in the Recreation Boat Market Report (energy-October 2017), edited by ANEN on the basis of information provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy.

They grow all the length. The ships up to 8 meters grow by 6.9%, enrolling 4354 vessels, compared to 4072 registered in the same period of 2016. It remains the most demanded segment of ships in Spain (88.2% of the nautical market). The length between 8 and 12 meters is 29.9%, with 361 enrolments compared to 278 last year.

The ships between 12 and 16 meters grow by 34.2%, with 157 enrollments over 117 registered in the same period of 2016. The ships over 16 meters continue to grow more prominently, 51.2% in this period in which they record 65 enrollments compared to 43 made between January and October 2016.

By type of boat, motor ships grow by 11.9%, with 2114 new records compared to 1978 last year (until October), and with the highest market share (44.8%). Water motorcycles are growing by 11%, with 1,099 units registered, over 990 in the same period in 2016.

The folding pneumatic vessels continue to decline, and fall by -2.1%, while the semi-rigid vessels grow by 11.1%. The positive candle also experiences a growth of 3.3%, enrolling 283 units compared to 274 units recorded between January and October 2016.

The rental market has an increase of 22.46% in the registration of recreational boats. From January to October 2017, 1494 recreational boats were registered for rent, compared with 1220 of the same period last year.
