12 / 11 / 2017: "Cansino" with Nano Yáñez to the new leader of the AXA League of J80 in Baiona
"Cansino" patroniado por Fernando Yáñez del Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona is the leader of the Axa League of J80, which celebrated a new manga in the Ria de Baiona, and which is only one day short.
After achieving two seconds in the two contested races, the Yáñez ship managed to overcome the "Okofen," which came in the head of previous days, but this afternoon noted the absence of its leader, Javier de la Gandara. The winners of the third and penultimate day of the AXA J80 Autumn League were the Marías- Casas do Telado, by Manuel María Cunha; and the Namasté of Luis de Mira. They were the first to cross the line of arrival on the two barlovento sotavento routes to which the regatta committee was able to leave in an afternoon very complicated by the little wind that was recorded in Baiona Bay.
In the fourth position, just three points away from the podium, is the Namasté, followed by the Marías, the Meltemi, and the New Moon. The Pazo de Cea, the Mondo, the Galera and the Cormoran II follow them in the classification that close the Miudo by Storax and the SND Cormorán, with a less test than the rest of the ships.
The AXA J80 Autumn League will end next November 25 with the last day of tests, for which there are planned three new barlovento sotavento sleeves in Baiona Bay. Once the competition is over, the Monte Real Club de Yates will welcome the award of the winners, putting the point and end to their sports season this 2017.
29 / 10 / 2017: "Okofen" by Javier Gandara in the AXA Fall League of J80 in Baiona
After the event was cancelled 15 days ago due to a lack of wind, the first day of the AXA J80 Autumn League was held in Baiona on Saturday, the competition that puts the point and end of the 2017 sports calendar of the Monte Real Club de Yates. The fleet of thirteen monotypes that the liguilla was fighting had to face a very roll and unstable wind, which complicated the navigation and left them stalled on several occasions. The Okofen, patronized by Javier de la Gandara, was the best party to get the situation out, crossing the first line of arrival on both occasions.
It completed the first routes, designed with a sotavent barlovent structure, with a north-west wind that moved between 7 and 10 knots, sometimes falling to 4 and causing several crouches. The third test started with a good girdle, but when the sailboats went down in the stern, the wind calmed down, it ended up disappearing and the committee decided to cancel.
The Cansino de Fernándo Yáñez and the Ferralemes de Enrique Porto, with 4 and 7 points, are the second and third of the provisional podium behind the Okofen. He is followed by the Namasté de Luis de Mira, the Meltemi de Guillermo Blanco and the New Moon of Juan Luis Tuero. El Monto de Bernardo Macedo, el Marías- Casas do Telhado de Manuel María Cunha, el Pazo de Cea de María Campos, La Galera de Diego Carral, el Cormorán II de Yago González, el SND Cormorán de Francisco Martínez y el Miudo by Storax de Alfonso Leite close the classification.
The AXA J80 Autumn League returns on Sunday November 12 with the third day of tests, also planned in Baiona Bay from noon.
