The Madrileño Germán García, forty-nine years old, who has been in Santander for about 20 years, has taken over the command of the pre-Olympic class 29er, taking over to which until a little more than a week ago was the National Secretary of the Class, Joan Gelpi, who, and together with Alejandro Cantero, will continue to be part of the project on the new board of directors of García, which is in the constituent phase.

Garcia has been linked in the sport of the candle just over ten years, currently being president of the Nautical Club Boya 14 in Santander. This graphic arts entrepreneur has played several important roles in the sailing, highlighting the position of Territorial Secretary of the L'Equipe class.

As far as the current situation of the 29th class is concerned, García is very sincere in making a fair assessment. "At present the class is in a change of generation, in which so far they were the usual in the races have made way (mainly by change to a higher boat or by age) to newly ascended ones of lower categories with much desire. There are almost 30 ships in five communities, Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Canary Community, Valencia Community and Cantabria."

The 29th class of Spain also put on the table, in the last Spanish Cup and within the program of its national assembly the headquarters for the Spanish championships and cup in 2018. "For next year are: in March the Spanish championship at the Nàutic Garraf Club in Sitges, Barcelona and the Spanish Cup in October at the Nàutic Sant Antoni Club in Portmany in Ibiza", says Garcia.
