Significant increase in demand for nautical degrees in 2017

The degrees are growing and in 2017 it is expected to exceed the number of expeditions of the previous year
The commitment to nautical has grown over the last two years in Spain and continues on this path. Sailing is rising positions among leisure plans to enjoy free time in Spain. The exponential growth of the charter since 2014 is added to that of the nautical degrees that grow at a good rate and that in 2017 they are expected to exceed those issued last year. 30,363 new titles issued in 2016 and almost 21,000 until August of this year, make it possible to make progress that the number of people interested in sailing is increasing, and that the purchase of boats is no longer the main criterion for measuring the reality of recreational nautical in our country.
It is also very interesting the growth of the navigation licences that are being accessed by many young people, which, based on the simplification of the regulations of nautical titles that entered into force in October 2013, allow to govern class C nautical motorcycles and recreational boats up to 6 meters in length and an engine power suitable to them according to their manufacturer, for day navigation and up to 2 nautical miles in any direction of a port, marine or place of coat. For many users they are the way to start in navigation and live their first nautical experiences.
The PER (Recreation Navigation Pattern), the title most demanded by the recreational navigators, accounted for 64% of the expeditions in 2016, followed by the Basic Navigation Pattern (20%), Yate Pattern (8.80%), Yate Captain (5%) and Nautical Moto Pattern (A and B), which accounts for 1.92%. Catalonia, Murcia and the Basque Country, the CC.A.A. where more degrees are issued. With 5,564 titles issued in 2016 (18% of the national total) and 4,523 until August 2017 (21.6% of the national total), Catalonia is the Autonomous Community with more nautical graduates. Murcia is second, with 4,404 titles in 2016 (14.5%) and 2,687 (12.8%) until August this year. The third position was for Andalusia in 2016, with 3,813 titles (12.5%), and in 2017 the Basque Country is the third Autonomous Community by number of titles issued, 2,487 (11.8%).
