White day for lack of wind in the AXA League of J80 in Baiona
A blank day in the AXA Autumn League for the J80 class... despite the many attempts of the judges in the face of the notorious lack of a widower, it was impossible to compete. Next date for October 28.
12 / 10 / 2017: The AXA J80 Autumn League begins at Mount Real Yacht Club
The races return to Baiona this weekend by the Autumn League AXA J80, a competition organized by the Monte Real Club of Yates and the sponsorship of AXA Seguro with which the Baionese club puts the point and end to its 2017 sailing season.
The trophy, intended exclusively for the J80 monotypes, will be held in liguilla format over four days, on 14 and 28 October and 12 and 25 November. By sailing in fleet and competing in real time, the participating sailboats will be held up to three tests per day. They will be barlovento / sotavento tours, with two necks and two sops, which the jotes will have to complete in a maximum of 75 minutes, and crossing the arrival line before 10 minutes from the entry of the first ship, in order not to be disqualified.
All the races will be held inside Baiona Bay, encouraging the autumn weekends of the neighbors and visitors of the Galician marinera, who will enjoy the competition of the sailboats from the walks, herring and surrounding mountains.
Among the participants will be the three ships that managed to get on the podium in the previous edition. We will see the Okofen, led and patronized by Javier de la Gandara, that last year was made with the victory along with Diego Fernández, Hugo Ferreiro and Jaime de la Gandara. They will also fight for the title the Namasté de Luis de Mira and the Miudo de Francisca Barros, which were left second and third in 2016. The fleet will be completed by other J80 of Mount Real Club of Yates and several more monotypes from Coruña and Vigo.
