The Coruñés regatist, Pancho González, was made with the 49th edition of the Barcolana, the largest race in the world that this year has reregistered a Guinnes World Record, having registered a total of 2101 sailboats.

Created in 1969 by the Club de Vela de Barcola and Grignano, it takes place the second weekend of October along 15 miles by the Ensenada of the Gulf of Trieste, touching the waters that bathe Venice, Croatia and Slovenia.

With a unique exit procedure, that is, they all come out at the same time, the markings are enabled between the Castle of Miramar and the Seat Società Velica Barcola and Grignano, being one of the most spectacular but also of the greatest tension, having to be controlling the nearest ships in their course, to avoid possible collisions.

On board the Swan 88 Spirit of Portopicolo (26.4 m long), ancient Morning Glory, González is the only Spanish among a crew made up of 20 Italians, whose headline is Benussi Furio, in which the Galician does the work of a génova trimmer.
