The double Olympic champion had a meeting at the Real Club de Regatas with technicians, regatists and parents, who the next day to conclude both days, moved to the beach of La Hita, where almost a hundred people came to do a coast cleaning

The Cartagena Regatas Club hosted a meeting with the double Olympic Sailor Theresa Zabell for technicians, coaches, sailing practitioners, athletes in general, as well as for mothers and parents of young sportsmen. Theresa Zabell dealt with aspects related to the practice of sailing, healthy life and healthy food in childhood and youth ages, as well as the values it provides and its match with competition in those early ages. In this regard, Zabell addressed in depth the objectives of the sailing schools and their relationship with all the actors involved: practitioners, technicians, managers, mothers and parents... In particular, "the sailing schools come to learn many things, not just to sail and have fun. It is necessary to inculcate to the younger the importance of caring for our seas, which are wealth and life for human beings.".

The following day, Theresa Zabell and the volunteers of the ECOMAR Foundation moved to the beach of La Hita with 70 children and older people, as it was an open call for all ages within the program of Libera, which is a project promoted by Ecoembes and aims to avoid "littering" in our territory. The "littering" consists of dumping or leaving waste in rural and coastal environments rather than placing them in the corresponding container. From La Hita they managed to get 58 kilos of waste, of which 44 were plastics, which the sea returns to the earth for the evil actions of men. The double Olympic champion reminded the participants of the importance of recycling, as "everything we throw on the earth will stop to the sea, and this, after time, returns it to us after it has been contaminated."

The Ecomar Foundation, with more than a decade of experience and a pioneer in the cleaning of coasts with children in Spain, has already carried out nine such actions in 2017 on the coasts of Spain and Portugal, in which 402 children have participated who have managed to remove 1,196 kilos of waste. The season began on the beach of the Maruca (Santander), the surroundings of the beach of Luaña, in Cóbreres (Santander), the beach of Campeche in Isla de Arosa (Pontevedra), the cove Higuera in Cabo de Gata (Almería), the beach of Pinedo, adjacent to the Real Club Náutico de Valencia (Valencia), where the record of volunteers added to an activity of Ecomar in one day with the participation of 195 children, the next years of the Puente del Duque, in the Natural Park of the Sierra de La Vévía (Pévía), and the beach of the beach of La Vévía (Pégada de La Vévía (Pévía), in the beach of La Vévía (La Vévía), and in the beach of the beach of the city of La Végada (La Végada).
