The Cantabria Kneeboard World Championship 2017 continues throughout the week in which the Junior, Senior, Master, Grandmaster, Veteran, Kahunas, Legends and Immortals will be completed

The Cantabria ISA Kneeboard World Championship 2017 crowned its first winners in the waves of Somo in a day that had the Open category as protagonist, there was also time to perform the first round of Junior thanks to the good conditions prevailing throughout the day.

The male category offered a great show, the third round of the previous day, the quarter finals, semifinals and the great final. The Australian Michael Novakov, 56, took the victory and his fifth world title, the result of his great experience. As for the Spanish representatives, a great performance of the canary Ruyman Acosta that managed to reach the semifinals and therefore ascend to the seventh place of the absolute world.

In the female category, the Tahitian Poppke Karele was the clear dominant and won the title of world champion. Great result of the vast Marina García and Maider Bilbatua, which ended third and fourth respectively.

30 / 09 / 2017: The ISA World Cup of Kneeboard lands on the Cantabrian beach of Somo

The scenario chosen by the international organization has been the community of Cantabria, in particular the town of Ribamontán al Mar, where the mythical beach of Somo is located. A prize that comes after ten years of work by Club Kneeboard Cantabria.

This modality, in which the main feature is to go on your knees on the table, has a long tradition in the northern part of Spain and will for the first time host an event of this importance. There will be several world champions who will meet during the first week of October on Somo Beach to fight this world, which will guarantee a great show to all attendees.

The competition will give the starting pistolet at 8: 30 Sunday morning and will last until 17: 30. The hours will be susceptible to change as they ensure from the organization that they will always be looking for the best conditions, taking into account the waves and tides.
