The Valencia Community already has its new autonomous cruise champions. The Rodman 42 Maverta of Pedro Gil, of the RCN Torrevieja in ORC 1 and the Dufour 40 Kalamandurrio of Pablo Nogueroles, of the CN Villajoyosa in ORC 2, have today been proclaimed champions at the Royal Nautical Club of Denia, club that hosts the race this weekend.

A second and last day in the waters of the Diaspora that has been marked by the absence of wind, although there was an attempt by the regatta committee to see that at 2: 00 hours a slight breeze that reached the 6-7 knots of intensity was to allow to close the first of the two planned, but... Once the test was launched and when the ORC 1 was already arriving at the sotavento door and the rest of the classes was doing it at the barlovento pass, beacon 1, the wind said goodbye.

The committee was obliged to annul the evidence. After several attempts and at around 3.30 p.m., in view of the inability to leave and close a test, the time limit was set at 4.30 p.m., the committee decided to send the fleet to the ground and to end the championship.

With the result of yesterday's coastal race we have been able to take out the two titles Autonomy - Generalitat Valenciana Trophy in play: Maverta in ORC 1 and Kalamandurrio in ORC 2. The rest of the classes, by not meeting the number of ships to form class, are awarded the RCN of Denia and FVCV trophy.

First and intense day of the Autonomous Championship of Cruises, Trophy Generalitat Valenciana- Memorial Juan Moreno, organized jointly by the Royal Nautical Club of Denia and the Federation of Sailing of the Valencian Community. An attractive first battle thanks to the good wind conditions in the waters of Denia, usual in the area, with 12 knots of intensity of the 140th (SE-Southeastern), although in the Granadella has gone to 170º (S-South) but has maintained its intensity has even reached 16 knots.

The Autonomical Cruise, Memorial Juan Moreno already counts the minutes for the great party of the cruise sail of the Valencia Community. Within the program: "Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18- Guest On-Board, Volvo Ocean 65 Pro-Am Race 1 and 2 Alicante - 15 October" will be delivered 12 invitations to live closely Alicante Port of Exit of the VOR, two for the champion and subchampion of each class. The rest, until the end of 12, will be drawn among all the ships that have come out in at least one test. This attractive and outstanding prize joins the trophies that the Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana will deliver to the first classified in each category, thus attesting to the award of the autonomous champions. The Memorial Juan Moreno sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana will also be another of the important rewards to be received by the cruise fleet of the Community.
