"Wanted" wins the Asian Sailing Week with three out of four in Gijón
The Astorian Week has ended on the day with a barlovent sotavento tour where the categories cruise, races and monotypes 595 have been gathered in the bay of Gijón with a wind of nine and a half meters of wave, a splendid day on the Gijonese coast for nautical discipline. On cruises the fastest boat was the "Ita Two" in 01-49-00, followed by the "Leonidas" of Juan Quevedo and in third position the "Wanted" of Ricky Simal. In the category of mono-type 595 the fastest boat was that of José Rabano in an hour forty-three minutes, continued by Alfonso Vallejo, and in third position Rafael Revilla, all of them in a frenzy arrival.
On the first day held on Saturday consisting of a coastal tour, the race was accompanied by a wind of eight knots in which the fastest boat takes two hours and forty minutes to make a tour with exit in the port Candas, buoy de desmarque in the bay of Luanco and arrival in the port of Gijón. The first ship in compensated time was the "Wanted," followed by the "Leonidas" of Juan Quevedo and in third position the "Aigla" of Elías Secades.
The Federation of Vela of the Principality of Asturias, the Club of Vela Bahia of Gijón, the School of Vela Puerto and Ria of Avilés and the Maritime of Luanco have premiered as a new committee of organization in this edition and have been very satisfied with the response of regatists and institutional support, such as the City of Gijón, placing itself to continue the following years and to recover the original dates of this test in the calendar of regats of the Principality of Asturias.
