The Nadir de Pedro Vaquer has today proclaimed himself a ClubSwan 42-class European champion and the Porron IX of Luís Senís is the new Swan 45 world champion. Both have won for Spain in the first edition of The Nations Trophy, competition between countries on board monotypes of the Finnish shipyard Nauthor's Swan. Palma Bay fired the fleet of The Nations Trophy with the best conditions of the week. Winds of 12-14 knots of intensity allowed to fight two tests in each of the three classes of Swan monotypes, which closed the championship with eight partials in their locker.

The last event of the Swan One Design season brought together 28 teams of 11 nationalities and decided the 2017 Swan Class 45 World Championship, the Europeans of ClubSwan 50 and ClubSwan 42, and the first edition The Nations Trophy, the trophy that credits the best nation aboard monotypes of Nauthor's Swan Shipyard.

The United Nations Trophy is calculated by adding the results of the two best classified in each country, and the excellent performance of Porron IX in Swan class 45 and Nadir in ClubSwan class 42 allowed the Spanish combined to lead the provisional from the second day, after overturning Italy. The Spanish Navy came to the final day but under pressure from Germany, which had gone from less to more throughout the championship thanks to its results in ClubSwan class 50. 13 / 10 / 2017: Spain faces with the lead the last act The Nations Trophy in Palma

The combined results of the Nadir de Pedro Vaquer and Porron IX de Luís Senís keep Spain at the head of The Nations Trophy in the absence of a single day of competition. Porron IX today gave up his Swan 45-class leadership for the minimum and Nadir continues unstoppable in his career for proclaiming European champion of ClubSwan 42. The leaders for the final day are the Earlybird of Hendrik Brandis in the battle for the European ClubSwan 50, the Dutch Motions of Lennard Van Oeveren in the World Cup of Swan 45 and the Spanish Nadir of Pedro Vaquer in the European ClubSwan 42.

Spain continues to lead the provisional of The Nations Trophy, calculated on the basis of the results of the two best classified teams in each country. Today, Germany managed to take the second provisional position from Italy, which is now fourth behind the Netherlands. Tomorrow, the Spanish Navy will try to take the first title of The Nations Trophy in history.

12 / 10 / 2017: Spanish Swan lead in Palma The Nations Trophy

The Swan 45 Porron IX and ClubSwan 42 Nadir place Spain at the head of The Nations Trophy after a day in which the fleet of 28 Swan monotypes contested two new sleeves in Palma Bay. The second day of the competition of The Nations Trophy added two new partials to the lockers of the 28 teams of 11 nationalities that compete for the first edition of this event promoted by the Nauthor's Swan shipyard. The wind took time to settle in Palma Bay, delaying the start of hostilities, but the Regata Committee led by Ariane Mainemare managed to organize tests for the three participating classes: ClubSwan 50, Swan 45 and ClubSwan 42.

The competition comes back tomorrow with a new ration of barlotte-sotavento tests from 12: 00 in the morning

The Spanish Navy, which came out in the water this morning in the second position of the classification of The Nations Trophy (calculated with the results of the two best teams of each participating country), returned to the Real Club Nautico de Palma as a new leader thanks to the excellent performance of the Swan 45 Porron IX by José María Meseguer and the ClubSwan 42 Nadir by Pedro Vaquer, leaders of their respective classes.

Sonke Meier's Niramo is the new ClubSwan 50 class leader. The German ship, which has Jesper Banks to the tactic, today managed to take away the leadership of the Cuordileone of Leonardo Ferragamo winning the first of the day and scoring one second in the next for a few discreet 5-6 of his rival. Both are tied to the front of the provisional, but the untie favors the Niramo for better result in the last test. "We had a good exit on the first of the day on the side of the Committee at full speed and good separation on the left, and with the wind coming on the right we were in the right place at the right time. From there we could control our rivals." The second manga was for the Russian Skorpios of Andrei Konogorov, which has on board the santanderino established in Palma, Nacho Postigo.

Luis Senís's Porron IX has today been able to defend the leadership achieved yesterday, although after the immaculate card of the opening day, this time he was unable to score any partial victory. The Spanish ship was a second and a quarter, and now leads the class provisional by eight points. Among Swan's 2017 world-class nominees, the best was today the Samantha, which added a quarter to the first sleeve and won the next to place second.

11 / 10 / 2017: Italy leads The Nations Trophy for Swan in Palma Bay

Today the inaugural edition of The Nations Trophy, the event created by Nauthor's Swan to recover the friendly confrontation between nations on board Swan monotypes, began in Palma waters. The bay of Palma had complicated conditions that delayed the start of the competition. Nacho Postigo, a crew member of the Russian ClubSwan 50 Skorpios, had already warned before going out into the water that it was going to be Palma's typical day in early autumn.

Among the fleet of 11 ClubSwan 50 class units, the partial victories of the day were the German Earlybird of Hendrik Brandis and the Italian Cuordileone of Leonardo Ferragamo. The sum of partials (2-1) allows to lead the ClubSwan 50 provisional (and therefore the race for the European in the category) to the ship armed and timed by the president of Nauthor's Swan, who in Palma has the American Ken Read to the tactic. "It has been a very long day, but the crew has done a great job of keeping the speed of the ship," read Read.

La primera jornada de competición de The Nations Trophy coloca a la Armada Española en segunda posición provisional tras los buenos resultados cosechados por el Swan 45 Porrón IX y el ClubSwan 42 Pez de Abril. The first day of the competition of The Nations Trophy places the Spanish Navy in second provisional position after the good results collected by the Swan 45 Porron IX and the ClubSwan 42 Pez of April. Italy leads the classification thanks to the partials of ClubSwan 50 Cuordileone and ClubSwan 42 Far Star

The best card of the day between the fleet of 28 singles Swan was the Swan 45 Porron IX of Luís Senís, the only ship that has managed to add partial wins to its locker. The day began well for the April Fish of José María Meseguer in ClubSwan class 42. A victory in the first manga of the day placed Spain as the first provisional leader of the absolute championship. In the second, the triumph would be the Italian Far Star of Lorenzo Mondo, and the Spanish ship signed a room relegating him to the second provisional square. He leads the battle for the World Cup of Swan 42 the Far Star (2-1 today).

The concept of The Nations Trophy includes individual classifications for each class and a combination of the partials of the best teams in each participating country to choose the nation that becomes absolute champion. At the end of the first day, Italy leads the provisional with two points thanks to the results of Cuordileone and Far Star, followed by Spain with three thanks to Porron IX and Pez de Abril. Third is the Netherlands.

They are in Palma, the best of each class... the Germans Earlybird (ClubSwan 50) and Elena Nova (Swan 45), and the Spanish Fish of April (ClubSwan 42).

The battle for The Nations Trophy is fought on several fronts: On the one hand, the ClubSwan 50 and ClubSwan 42 fleets will compete for their respective European championships, while the Swan 45 will choose their world champion 2017. But above these crowns is the first title of The Nations Trophy, which will award the country with the best result combined with a trophy designed by the prestigious Milanese jeweler Buccellati.

The fleet of this inaugural edition is composed of 11 ClubSwan 50, nine Swan 45 and eight ClubSwan 42 units representing 11 nationalities: Germany, Belgium, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. Tripulantes from 20 countries (including about 50 Spaniards) confirm the international character of this biannual event organized by the Finnish shipyard Nauthor's Swan that has chosen Palma for its historic debut.

The lockers are opening tomorrow. The participants have taken advantage of today's day to complete the weighing and measuring procedures, complete the development of their machines and test them in the official training race, contested with 8-12 knots of wind of a southwest component. A good occasion for ClubSwan 50, Swan 45 and ClubSwan 45 to make contact with the stage they will compete on until next Saturday.

The Real Club Náutico de Palma rehosts an event of the Swan One Design classes, which, after competing in Palma for the Sail Racing PalmaVela in the last Cup of the King, return to play the first edition of The Nations Trophy, the latest and most important event of the Nauthor's Swan monotypes season. Eight ClubSwan 42, ten Swan 45 and ten ClubSwan 50 teams have confirmed their participation. The Nations Trophy will be decided by the combined results of the best ships in each country in at least two of the participating classes. The winners will receive a trophy designed by the prestigious Milanese jewelry store Buccellati.

With seven teams distributed among the three classes, Italy is the country with the largest participation. Germany provides only four ships in two categories, although it has two of the top favorites for class victory: the ClubSwan 50 Earlybird and the Swan 45 Elena Nova. With Spanish pavilion also compete four ships, highlighting for their performance this season the ClubSwan 42 Pez of April and Nadir (champion and second ranked in the MAPHRE King's Cup last August), and the Swan 45 Porron IX (second of its class in the Majorcan test). Luis Senís, owner of Porron IX, faces the race with good expectations: "We love the competition of Swan monotypes for the adrenaline of real time and the shipowning-timonel concept. It's always good to organize races like this. The Nations Trophy is a great idea and representing your country is a stimulus. We are looking forward to enjoying the sea, Palma, the Swan world and the possibility of dreaming of winning." With British flag, four ships will compete covering all three classes. One of them is that of Barry Sampson, a veteran shipowner of ClubSwan 42 who last week competed in Newport (Rhode Island, United States) for the Rolex NYYC Invitational Cup, and who will sail in Palma with a rented boat. He will be accompanied by Dave Collins with his Swan 45 Tala, James McGarry with his Swan 45 Eala of Rhu, and Peter Dubens with his ClubSwan 50 Spectre. The other participating countries are Belgium France, the Netherlands, Russia and Sweden.
