They managed to get the gold at the Princess Sofia Trophy, the Sailing World Cup Hyeres and the final of the World Sailing in Santander. Already with foyer ships, the Spanish have been subchampions in the European Championship in Kiel, Germany, and in the world that has ended today in the Great Motte, France.

Fernando Echávarri and Tara Pacheco continue in the second drawer of the provisional podium of the World Championship of Nacra 17. "In the finals everything is much tighter, there is more level in the fleet," has remarked the Basque pattern. Although they have fallen to the fifth position today, they keep the possibilities of getting a medal intact, as they only separate three points from the third classified.
Tomorrow, Sunday, September 10, the committee plans to complete the qualifying phase with the last three sleeves. In the afternoon, the ten best crews will be measured in the medal race, a final race of non-disposable double score, which will crown the world champions of the class Nacra 17 that this summer has premiered navigation with foils.
08 / 09 / 2017: Spain stalks gold in the World Cup of Nacra 17 in France
The first day of the final phase of the World Championship of Nacra 17 has been resolved in a brilliant way for two of the Spanish teams in liza. Fernando Echávarri and Tara Pacheco, who started the day from post 12, have climbed to the second drawer of the provisional podium. Iker Martínez and Olga Maslivets maintain the third position.
Yesterday Tara Pacheco recognized that she and Fernando Echávarri were not showing their "best" version in the water. "We have to analyze and do self-criticism," the crew said. Today the Galician canary duo has unfolded in the race field and has added to his particular locker a 5, 2, 3 with which they have catapulted to the second place. "At last, things have worked out for us today," Pacheco said. With six magnas ahead, plus the medal race, the canarian crew is clear: "In the gold group we cannot have mistakes, there is still a world."
Iker Martínez and Olga Maslivets have now completed a day of ups and downs with their worst numbers so far. However, they maintain the third position, only one point from their fellow Ejavarri / Pacheco and three from the first classified, the Italians Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti. The Spanish team has started the day with a 14 in the first manga and has followed the day with a fifth and ninth position. "These races are very long, we must try not to have bad days," Martinez explained.
During the Princess Sofia Trophy, Martínez and Maslivets debuted as a team and since then had not been competing again together. Still, the sensations are positive for Iker: "Olga and I have not sailed much together but we see that we are better than we thought." In the absence of two days to finish the championship, the team maintains the third position of the provisional general. "This world is for us a test to know what level we have; when the world is over we will draw conclusions," points out the Basque pattern that is prudent.
Tomorrow Saturday, the committee plans to hold three more tests. On Sunday, September 10, the last day of the World Championship of Nacra 17 that is disputed at the Yacht Club la Grande Motte of France, the fleet will perform three other tests and the top ten classified will compete in the medal race, final race of non-disposable double score.
