Success of the Open of Remo de Mar in Torrevieja with 300 athletes in competition

The podium was dominated by the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja by obtaining four medals, including 3 oros and 1 silver
For the fifth consecutive year the sea rowing had an important meeting in Torrevieja, bringing together more than 300 people, becoming the neural center of the modality. It had as its stage, the beach of Cura, where bathers and general public that was there enjoyed a great day and a great show.
With the 5th International Open of Remo de Mar, the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja begins the autumn season and as every year, this is a must-see for the regatists of this modality. Organized by the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, together with the Federation of Remo de la Comunitat Valenciana, the support of the Sports Council of the City of Torrevieja, the Diputación de Alicante, the foundation Trinidad Alfonso and the IMED clinic of Torrevieja, this test is fully consolidated. One of the most relevant aspects to be highlighted this year has been the high number of participants. To the city the best remers from clubs from all over the Valencian Community, as well as from Barcelona, Tarragona, Málaga, Sevilla, the Basque Country and countries such as Sweden, Germany or Mexico were moved. Another aspect to be highlighted has been the high level that the remers demonstrated during the competition, facing a somewhat complicated exit. The test started at 12: 15, as the rising sea prevented the correct departure of the participants. In the classification the first posts by category were for:

To highlight the support also, in this V Open International Remo de Mar of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation through its program PAC CV (Program of Support to Competitions in the Valencia Community with the collaboration of the Spanish Olympic Committee. This programme supports the organization and conduct of sports tests, whether national or international, in the three provinces of the Valencia Community. Its aim is to attract athletes from outside the Community to fight sports events, thus achieving the economic and tourist development of the localities where these events are held.

The fifth edition of the Open of Remo de Mar de Torrevieja has been selected within the program sponsored by the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and the Spanish Olympic Committee, in support of sports competitions held in the Valencia Community. This race will be held on September 23, 2017, a week before the Spanish Championship of Remo de Mar, which is why it is a good opportunity to prepare the partition in the state championship.
