The resolution of 12 July 2017 of the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy, which updates the powers and procedure for obtaining the certificate of speciality of the Professional Pattern of Recreation (PPERs), has been published in the BOE today. The resolution responds to the proposal submitted by ANPPER (National Association of Professional Patrons of Recreation) to the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy, which has had the collaboration of ANEN, of which ANPPER has been a member since 2016.

The improvements made relate to the areas and conditions of navigation, according to which the PPER is able to "the government of Spanish flag recreational vessels registered on the sixth or seventh lists, provided that they have no more than 12 persons on board including the crew, of a length of 24 metres or less, in the following categories":

1) Navigation along the coast within the area between it and the 60-mile line parallel to it. (In the previous regulation the area of navigation was limited to the area parallel to the Spanish coast, a specification that is removed in the current Resolution).
2) Cabotage and along the coast within the area between it and the line of 150 miles parallel to it, attesting a boarding period not less than 24 months in the exercise as a pattern.... is a new attribution that has a positive impact on the exercise of the charter.

This achievement has been the result of the synergies between the two associations, ANPPER and ANEN, and was promoted during the holding of the Fifth Nautical Congress in Palma last March, which was attended and assisted by the representatives of the DGMM.
