The Interclub Sailing Trophy in Gijón ended with the victory of the Abra Maritime

David Solana and Javier Gutiérrez in Snipe, Manolo Rey-Baltar in Laser Radial, Martín García in Laser 4.7 and Camilo Felipe in Optimist, winners of the sixth edition of the Villa de Gijón de Vela Ligera Trophy... to note that the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club again takes the Trophy Interclubs.
Organised by the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón, ships of the Snipe classes, radial laser, 4.7 and optimist were gathered in the Asterian Bay. This was the fourth and final test of the Interclubs Trophy in which they compete: the Real Club Náutico de San Sebastián, the Real Club Marítimo del Abra- Real Sporting Club de Bilbao, the Real Club Marítimo de Santander and the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón.
The Snipe class was the only one who performed two sleeves on Saturday, with the absolute dome of the couple of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander formed by David Solana and Javier Gutiérrez that were imposed on the two sleeves. The second square would be noted by the premises of the Club de Regatas, José and his daughter, Maria Palacio, who finished second in both sleeves. Tomás Trueba and Iñigo Fuertes, another cantabre couple from the Marítimo de Santander would occupy the third position, with a fourth and a third place.
Among the Laser 4.7 Martín García renews the triumph achieved in the last edition, the santanderino despite performing an off-line in the first race was able to recover from the failure and would be third in the inaugural manga, in the other two tests was the best and, therefore, repeats the triumph harvested last year. Very good the performance of, Alvaro Pérez of the Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón that won the first manga and was third and fourth in the following two reaching a deserved second place in the general classification. For its part, Ignacio Aja, from the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club would occupy the third square tied to points with Alvaro.
In Laser Radial, three Basque members of the Abra-Sporting Club were raised with the honorary posts. Manolo Rey-Baltar was the best in two sleeves and second in the other, the second square got it, Nicolás Viar, with 7 points in his locker, so he left one point, Perico Basterra, first in the second test.
In the Optimist class with 25 registered ships, Camilo Felipe, from the Marítimo de Santander was the best followed by the bilbaínos, Gabriel Oraa and Arrieta Angueira. In Optimist Benjamin, the Alvaro Alonso premises would be in first luagar and Marta Simal ended in third position.
The Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, with young regatists of the Optimist classes, Laser 4.7 Laser Radio and Snipe, was the most prominent team, in which also took the Trophy Interclubs of light sailing to the Real Club Marítimo de Santander, the Real Club Astur de Regatas and the Real Club Náutico de San Sebastián. The members of the School of Vela José Luis de Ugarte shone with Manolo Rey Baltar winning in the Laser Radial class, with his companions Nicolás Viar and Perico Basterra in the second and third position. In addition, Ignacio Aja was third in Laser 4.7, with Tanis Rey Baltar in the fifth square and Martin Bueno in the seventh. In the Optimist class, Gabriel Oraá finished second and Arrieta Angueira in third place. Tomas Trueba was also third in the Snipe class. Organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas, the sixth edition of the Light Sailing Villa Trophy was held in the Bay of San Lorenzo, being the most important light Sailing event in Asturias for the Optimist, Snipe, Laser 4.7, Standar and Radial classes. The RC.M.A.-R.S.C. regatists took the first positions in most classes.
