The Nautical Club Costa Brava-Vela Palamós has been invited to participate in the International Yacht Club Challenge, which will be held on August 20 in the waters of Manhattan Yacht Club New York.

In 1988, the Manhattan Yacht Club organized the first International Yacht Club Challenge. The challenge was later organized in 1989, 1991 (co-organized with Yacht Club of Monaco), 1992 and under the patronage of Dennis Conner and 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014 under the sponsorship of the Port of New York.

The race promotes friendship with the different clubs that participate as well as establishing reciprocal relations with the Manhattan Yacht Club.

Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Vela Palamós has bet on a young crew but with great potential. The expedition that has been in New York since the middle of this week is made up of Joan Herp, Olympic regatist to Rio 2016 in the class 470; the brothers Joan and Marçal Costa, who a few weeks ago went up first and third to the Waszp World Cup - all of them leaving the CNCB- VP- and David Charles of the CN El Balís, the Spanish champion of 420 and world bronze. They are accompanied by the club's technical director, Carles Palomares.

Its aim is to bring the colors of our CNCB-VP to the highest possible level, as well as to establish relationships with the other participating Clubs.
