The Spanish rowing has made history last weekend during the Junior World Championship. The Aragonese Esther Briz has proclaimed herself the world champion in the Lithuanian town of Trakai to achieve, apart from the only medal of the national delegation, the first Spanish female intercontinental title in the category. It has also done so with Andalusian collaboration through the technicians Jacobo Castiñeira (Real Círculo de Labradores) and Daniel Sierra (Club Náutico Sevilla), coaches of the Spanish selection along with Catalan Alejandro Dimiddi.
After a month of preparation in the Sevillian CEAR of La Cartuja, the Spanish team was travelling to the World Cup, where Castiñeira focused on Esther Briz's skiff. Sevillano adds its collaboration in the achievement of this gold to the one already achieved in 2008, then in the mode of four without male timonel. In this way it ratifies the good work with the basis that has led him a new year to direct the designs of the Spanish promises in the World Cup, to which Daniel Sierra, in his case, came as responsible for the double male scull, sixth; and the two without male timonel, tenth.
The Spanish team completed its performance in Trakai with the eight with male timonel, tenth with the Andalusian Jaime Rodríguez, Alfonso Berral, Ramón Somalo (Club Náutico Sevilla), Carlos González Buzón (Club de Remo Guadalquivir 86), Francisco Javier Guenebat, Manuel Otero and Ander Martín (Real Círculo de Labradores); and the four without male timonel, thirteenth with the presence of Gonzalo García (Real Círculo de Labradores).
