The 3rd Astoria Regata - 53rd Cape Roig Trip 2017 already has its winners. The race that was organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja, held yesterday, August 15, finally had a total of 45 ships and thanks to the good wind conditions it was possible to complete the entire program, with the coastal race to Cabo Roig in the morning, with about 11 nautical miles of journey, and two barlovent- sotavento tests in the afternoon, with the top of departure established at 16 hours. As for the Astoria Trophy, with a joint general classification and thanks to two first positions, the Alicantino Tanit III-Medilevel (RCR Alicante) of Mª José Vila with an IMX 40 was made with the prestigious Torreviejense trophy. Very constant and regular was the plywood, not only in the afternoon test, but also in the coastal.

The podium was completed with the local Pulpo Negro (RCN Torrevieja), a Dufour 34 led on this occasion by Guillermo Beltri, with partials of 2-3. The second square was for the cartagJanuary Dieselrec (RCR Cartagena) with an X35 by Manuel Gambín, who in the first test ended up tied with another boat and also from the same club: Fandango 300 (A40 RC) by Javier Sabiote, and in the second one ended in the second place. The fourth and fifth square, respectively, was for two ships of the nautical of Torrevieja: Greek (First 42 S7 DK) of Mercedes Fernández with 3-5 and C.A.F. of Rosendo Zaragoza after signing 8-4.

The card Fandango 300 by Javier Sabiote was the fastest in this first delivery, marking an inverted time of 1.37.23 to complete the tour. A triumph that was to materialize after getting the times compensated. Tanit III-Medilevel was the second, while the third place in ORC 1 was for Trabuco (RCN Torrevieja) by Francisco J. Martínez. As regards the joint classes ORC 2-3 the first in real time was Dieselrec, although after obtaining the compensated times the local Black Octopus was made with the triumph. Dieselrec was second followed by Greek, C.A.F. and Demoño Dojo. My Lady, led by Antonio Pardo, rose with partial triumph in the class ORC 4, while Tucana I of Patricio Valverde and Brisa of Amelia Maseres occupied the second and third place respectively.

The classifications were closed with the ORC Promotional fleet. Triunfo de Haizkora de Miguel Molina, followed by Bernique de Fernando Peña; Hego-Aize II de Antonio María Andreu; Mr. Fox de Alberto Fernández y Lestes Dos de José Antonio Martín.

Countdown for the 3rd Astoria Regata - 53rd Cape Roig Trip, organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja and held tomorrow Tuesday, August 15. The Torreviejense meeting, which hopes to be consolidated in the calendar as one of the important races, plans to reach the number of 50 registered ORC ships. At the moment the number of participating ships reaches 42. The race maintains the same format as in the last two editions. A coastal test to Cabo Roig in the morning, with the top of departure scheduled at 11: 30 hours, on a tour of about 12.5 nautical miles, and more technical, with two wind races (barlovento-sotavento, with two necks and two soups) that will be held in the afternoon from 16: 00 hours in which the Astoria trophy will be at stake.

The level of participation, even and despite some absences, is going to be high, with very competitive units, offering a nice show in Torrevieja waters. In ORC 1 four are the aspirants and they enter the bets to be occupying a podium square on Saturday night. The Bats Fandango 300 (CN Portmán) by Javier Sabiote y Malicia (CN Villa de San Pedro) by Pedro Pasquín and the local Trabuco, by Aurora Moreno and Pulpo Negro, on this occasion led by Guillermo Beltri. As for the rest of the fleet, in ORC 2 the cartagJanuary Dieselrec of Pedro A. Pasquín and the local CAF of Rosendo Zaragoza have many options to occupy one of the two the first square. Tucana (CN Capoamor) of Patricio Valverde y Griego (RCN Torrevieja) in ORC 3 will be held the title, with the permission of the rest of the fleet in this category. Daikoku (CN Marina International), by Joaquín García, shares as a great favorite in ORC 4.

In ORC Promotion, a lot of equality between the local fleet. The options to be in one of the three podium squares pass through the Venturi Fox de José Herraiz; Mayuca, de José Miguel Romero; Luna, de Carmelo González or Lestos Dos de José Antonio Martínez. Weather forecasts aim to be optimal for the fleet, both in the morning and in the afternoon. All points to a wind of Levante (North) with an intensity that can be around 14 knots of intensity.

The facilities of the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja have been the mark chosen today for the official presentation of the 3rd Astoria Regata - 53rd Cape Roig Trip for the cruise fleet ORC, which will be held on Tuesday, August 15 and will once again have the best fleet of the Region of Murcia and the Valencia Community. The event was chaired by José Ramón Sánchez, Manager of Astoria Patrime Experience; Manuel Valera, organizer of the event; Germán Soler Hernández, president of the Náutico de Torrevieja who was accompanied by his Vocal de Vela Gabriel Hostalet and José Antonio Antón Director Técnica de la Regata.

The emblematic Torreviejense regatta maintains its format, with two parts: One in the morning with the classic tour of the Torrevieja crossing out Roig with a return after surrounding the buoy of Campoamor.
